A president steeped in constitutional lore might have been offended by claims he’s acting as a king.

But Donald Trump and his entourage responded with mockery to weekend “No Kings” protests by millions of Americans — embracing the narrative in a way that explains his growing hubris and belief that he has unchecked power.

I don't see him popping open his laptop and producing an AI video. This was done by and approved by handlers. And not the smart ones.

[–] athatet@lemmy.zip 11 points 1 week ago

Don’t fucking apologize for him. It really doesn’t matter who actually posed anything. The president of the USA official account (from his own social media platform, another big uh oh) posted a video of him as a king using a jet to shit on Americans.

Certainly not doing himself no, but don’t you think he’s petty enough to supervise the whole thing start to finish ?

Reminds of a story from a real Mad Man. Some clients would be shown the best effort, because those people understood the business and could appreciate how it would play.

Others would get three choices, the one they wanted to sell, and two low effort pieces for them to reject. Rejecting the bad ones made the clients feel savvy and in control.

Donnie was shown three videos and 'picked' the best one.

I'd bet money on that.

Not since the second stroke

And...? No one's saying he personally sat down and tweaked prompt engineering. But he's the president, and it's his administration. Remember "The buck stops here"?

To them, anything that distracts from Epstein is good.

His MAGats will laugh themselves sick over the video, because that's the kind of thing they would do themselves.

My wife called me while she was driving to work to let me know that there was a large sign hanging on a bridge (major highway) that said "trump loves Epstein"

This is in Texas. Love to see it. We woke now?

That's Barron's job

I was honestly wondering if someone made it in mockery of him, and he doubled down on it...

[–] Jack_Burton@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I think he posts clearly ai videos by design. The other day that Chuck Schumer ai video looked legit. Trump posts videos easily vetted as ai, so his base believes that's what ai looks like. Oversaturated, unnatural, glitched, etc. Now when another branch of the govt posts an ai vid as good as the Schumer one, his base believe its real. "I know what ai looks like, Trump posts funny ai stuff all the time. This didn't looks at all like that so it can't be ai".

[–] 5too@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

While I don't doubt plenty in his administration would think of that, I have trouble seeing him thinking that far ahead.

Could definitely be getting fed AI videos with the hope of him reposting them for that reason, though.

Lol "the smart ones"... Because those exist.

They’re just pointing out that this guy is so stupid he can’t even use basic tools without help.

[–] seejur@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

That the entire entourage is so stupid actually, or that they know the senate and Congress are too spineless to do anything at all
