(In my opinion) They share the same content, but PieFed has more features and better UX. I'm typing this from PieFed right now permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] DannyMac@sh.itjust.works 3 points 8 months ago (3 children) PieFed is just a Lemmy instance, no? permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 3 child comments replies: [–] toomanypancakes@piefed.world 26 points 8 months ago Nope, it's its own thing. It's federated, so you can view piefed content on lemmy and vice versa, but it's a separate platform built in a different language by someone else. I like it better mainly because the lemmy devs are transphobes who are fond of the idea of mass murdering their political opponents. permalink fedilink source parent [–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 12 points 8 months ago It’s a different software stack, both server and client. But it uses the same protocol as Lemmy for federation (same story with kbin/ mbin.) so all those talk to eachother. permalink fedilink source parent [–] Zorque@lemmy.world 5 points 8 months ago Its a similar base but distinct in feature set and backend. permalink fedilink source parent [–] nocturne@piefed.social 10 points 8 months ago Piefed is a perfectly fine alternative to Reddit. permalink fedilink source parent [–] thisfro@slrpnk.net 8 points 8 months ago RIGHT? permalink fedilink source parent [–] Truscape@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 8 months ago* It could also be lemmy/piefed since both are interoperable. permalink fedilink source parent
