That doesn't sound anti-AI to me.
The cool new shill tactic is to pretend to be anti-AI or "concerned about AI" so they can hijack the conversation and re-direct people's focus away from actual change and regulation. They bring up do-nothing solutions like "Local LLMs" or a there being a "public stake" in the industry.
Lemmy is absolutely thick with these cockroaches.
Honestly. It reads like they want the government, specifically their dear leader, to do a hostile takeover of the AI companies so they can control it.

They absolutely don't. See also all the outrage about "taxpayer money" funding abortion and transition as part of Medicare/Medicaid -- they don't even consider that women and trans people are also taxpayers.

That's a sane route. "AI" isn't inherently bad, if it's truly free and open source, with free and open source data and models and algorithms.
Yeah we have those already. The problem is capitalism.
The sane route is to implement socialism. Your AI girlfriend is secondary potatoes.
