[+] Lev -15 points 2 months ago (16 children) Polish idiots really are a joke permalink fedilink source hideshow 16 child comments replies: [–] sepi@piefed.social 13 points 2 months ago (1 child) A guy goes into a store and tells the clerk, “I’d like some Polish sausage.” The clerk looks at him and says, “Are you Polish?” The guy, clearly offended, says, “Well, yes I am. But let me ask you something.” If I had asked for Italian sausage would you ask me if I was Italian? Or if I had asked for German bratwurst, would you ask me if I was German? Or if I asked for a kosher hot dog would you ask me if I was Jewish? Or if I had asked for a taco would you ask if I was Mexican? Would ya, huh? Would ya?” The clerk says, “Well, no.” With deep self-righteous indignation, the guy says, “Well, all right then, why did you ask me if I’m Polish just because I ask for Polish sausage?” The clerk replies, “Because this is Home Depot.” permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 1 child comment replies: [–] Albercik@szmer.info [S] 4 points 2 months ago xD permalink fedilink source parent [–] Squizzy@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago (12 children) Why anti polish? They are backing Ukraine. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 12 child comments replies: [–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 6 points 2 months ago (5 children) Because propaganda told them Poland hates Ukraine now, meanwhile the Polish right just collapsed into factionalism and with it their dreams of sucking off Putin in person. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 5 child comments replies: [–] Albercik@szmer.info [S] 2 points 2 months ago (4 children) Even Poles hate on Poland. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] Sirius006@sh.itjust.works 1 point 2 months ago (3 children) Ok, but can Poland into space? permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 3 child comments replies: [–] Albercik@szmer.info [S] 3 points 2 months ago (2 children) No carrier rockets so far. Only Polish made satellites. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Sirius006@sh.itjust.works 1 point 2 months ago (1 child) And two astronauts! My comment was a reference to the running polandball joke. When I first heard about that joke about 10 years ago I thought it was because there was no Polish astronaut, but there was one (Mirosław Hermaszewski). I just learned that things are getting out of hands : now there are two of them (Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski). permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 1 child comment replies: [–] Albercik@szmer.info [S] 2 points 2 months ago I hope many Polish politicians will increase that count by becoming astronauts themselves. Preferably with one way ticket. permalink fedilink source parent [–] Albercik@szmer.info [S] 0 points 2 months ago (5 children) What's anti _P_olish in statement that Poland is full of idiots and the way Polish armed forces reacted is a fucking joke? I been living my whole life in Poland and I agree. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 5 child comments replies: [–] Squizzy@lemmy.world 1 point 2 months ago (4 children) It being full of idiots is where I would find the anti polish seniment. I think Ukraine has a lot to be proud of but should maybe limit its critiques of allies to constructive criticisms and stop from bashing an entire people who have worked to ensure Ukraine does not fall. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] lurch@sh.itjust.works 4 points 2 months ago (2 children) It's not nice, but the commenter doesn't speak for Ukraine. Maybe they aren't even from Ukraine. There are so many ppl from all over the world on here. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Lev 2 points 2 months ago Yeah I'm not Ukrainian. I'm from another European country that often doesn't do nearly as much for our Ukrainian neighbours, and I have no problem calling most of my fellow citizens idiots for many other reasons too What I was referring to specifically—and I apologise if I was too rude—was the incompetence of the Polish armed forces in guarding the borders of our Union. A strong and quick reaction would have been vital in response to such provocations made by putinist bastards, which essentially amount to acts of war. Instead, the incompetence displayed will certainly set a dangerous precedent for the future. I also have a profound hatred of the PiS party and all its voters, as well as the clerical fascism they preach, and their recent shenanigans against Ukraine have naturally only reinforced that hatred. Of course, I know PiS doesn't necessarily represent the majority of Polish people, but certainly a sizeable plurality, and that's a disgrace, as with similar demagogic parties in Europe. At the same time, I know there are many progressive-minded and pro-European people in Poland who strongly support Ukraine, and they will always have my support and respect. However, my original comment wasn't referring to them. I hope I've made things a bit clearer now :)) permalink fedilink source parent [–] Squizzy@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago Fair point permalink fedilink source parent [–] Albercik@szmer.info [S] 2 points 2 months ago Poles hate criticism.
