Rules:
1. Be civil
Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.
2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.
Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.
3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.
Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.
4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.
Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.
5. Only recent news is allowed.
Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.
6. All posts must be news articles.
No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.
7. No duplicate posts.
If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.
8. Misinformation is prohibited.
Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.
9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.
All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.
10. Don't copy entire article in your post body
For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

Hey, for any progressive / socialist / communist / anarchist lemmings out there that thinks the Democratic establishment can't or won't support a more left candidate:

Sen. Gary Peters, the Michigan Democrat whose retirement spurred the contentious primary to replace him, said, “Congratulations to him.”
Of course, this doesn't mean we can just vote our way out of this, or that the Democratic party is the best way to move forward your politics. But, just remember the value of a strategic vote isn't nothing and doesn't have much opportunity cost.

He won't weigh on in a primary, but the DNC should never be doing that.
I left X when it was still called Twitter, and do extensive ad-blocking (UBO; Medium mode), so I don't see anything posted there. Thanks for the information.
Please stop using X. It only has ad income due to the "daily active users" numbers still being high. Leave it and if you still need to follow select accounts on it, join a Mastodon instance that doesn't defederate @bird.makeup or one of the other X mirroring services.

I just googled the two names and grabbed the first link.
I think they use Facebook, Twitter, and Substack. Which all have their own problems, and I'd love for them to use better platforms.
Just wanted to get as close of a source as possible. The oligarch owned media will always put a slant on it in articles, because they want to depress Dem primary turnouts.
So Nitter instances won't contribute to the active user numbers?
I believe an X mirroring service will count as a single "daily active user" for the X numbers, no matter how many actual people are accessing the information downstream of the mirroring service. I don't use that number myself, so I'm not sure how it is calculated.
I can operate without X. But, not everyone can. For example, there are governmental organizations that only publish announcements on X. So, some people are going to need to use a mirroring service (or X itself) until they can get entities outside their direct control to change behavior, which always takes time.
Replace the x and put xcancel and that solves that issue.

That's precisely the election strategy they've been using for decades, to make you feel good right before the election, so you forget about how they've abandoned you for all those years prior and vote for them thinking "this time is different."
Talk is cheap. The Democrats have shown time and time and time again that they're more than happy to virtue signal or tell citizens what they want to hear when election time rolls around but immediately turn their backs on the people when it comes time to govern.
Maybe save the snarky "I told you so" type comments until you can provide more than hollow quotes from a couple of individuals.
Where, exactly, is the snark in my comment? It was unintended, and I'd like to avoid projecting snark unintentionally in the future.
I agree that quotes aren't a lot of action, but public quotes are one of the methods people in those positions affect the electorate and help (or hinder) candidates. I do hope the DNC contributes materially to the campaign, and agree that has yet to happen.
I probably l could have found a better word to use but couldn't think of one. I also hope they follow through, but have become so jaded and cynical of the party after years of seeing them giving Trump and the Republican party every single thing they want.
