Always.

They've just always gotten a free pass because of second hand credit from all the incredible modding that happens on their games.

If their games were not moddable, and they did not have a community to rely upon having done billions and billions of dollars in free work and labor for them, Bethesda as a company would have probably died 20 years ago.

Nope, no one does, because Bethesda doesnt share sales data per platform.

also modding on skyrim and fallout 4 and starfield very much does happen via creation club.

and if modding wasnt that essential to bethesda games, they wouldnt have spent the time and effort to try to get modding on consoles

people played skyrim for years on 360 and Playstation long before mods came along.i really have to question if you were even around when that game released

Son, I've been playing games since before the intellivision and the 2600.

and your defensiveness does not change the fact that, if bethesdas games were not heavily and freely moddable, that they would not be where they are today. Their company gained major fame and their games massive longevity and significantly increased sales from the achievements of the free labor of modders.

    damn youre old 😂

sure mods played a part, but not as significant a chunk you suggest otherwise they wouldnt have been popular to console players at all

the massive modding environment has been massive contribution to the games fame, the companies fame, and word of mouth, which would have definitely driven console sales.
