I've got an ancient stainless steel IKEA moka pot that has served me indefatigably for about 14 years. While it refuses to die, I am locked in. It makes a cup of coffee strong enough for a whole day, and has been hilariously indestructible. I've had other, larger aluminium moka pots that simply fall apart in my hands within two years.
I don't know anything about your coffee maker. It sounds nice. I'm willing to bet most of your guests wouldn't object to instant espresso. If they really like coffee, you could treat them with the real deal. It probably doesn't make sense to do the whole bit for every single guest though.
