Meta has reached some new lows it seems. They have an AI working to detect and ban scam accounts. If you get a new number and send out some messages to different people, you might just get banned from WhatsApp.
I got a new number. I moved back to The Netherlands. I send some people a message with my new info. I got banned by the AI for 6 hours.
This alone would not bother me. But you literally cannot appeal the ban. You can, but nobody sees it. It is all AI regulated. And the AI gets triggered by the most random shit. Your account might get permabanned forever with no way to way to retrieve your account and nobody to appeal to. Literally nobody working at that department at Meta.
Signal isn't a realistic option. Out of the hundreds of WhatsApp contacts I have, twelve have Signal. Just have to walk on egg shells now, I guess. Or face being cutoff from the social media virtually everyone here uses to communicate.
