Their CEO, Garrett Langley, went on Fox News recently and argued that […] we all just need to accept a "compromise" between privacy and safety.

I’m struck by what a giant load of bullshit this is and how Flock (and copycat companies like Axion) are just facilitating the sort of police state that would be required to make something like Project 2025 possible.

"Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."

Ben Franklin was very progressive for his time. He owned a few slaves early in his life, but soon freed them and spent the rest of his life as one of that time period's most outspoken critics of slavery. He even bought a printing press so he could spread anti-slavery rhetoric more effectively.

You have internet, there's no excuse for being wrong unless you just like spreading misinformation.

Side note: Axon is the older of the two companies, and has been making police body cams for over 30 years

I think most of us are on-board with police body cameras. The fundamental difference is that they are recording things in the presence of the police, and that they have the measurable benefit of holding the police accountable to their actions (sometimes).

we all just need to accept a "compromise" between privacy and safety.

You will be safe from retribution when you respect our privacy and stop spying on us.

    That's a fair "compromise ", isn't it?
