If Tod Maffin endorses EhNow, is it less suspicious? (youtu.be)

I recently tried posting a link to an anti-annexation protest event I created, however EhNow (similar to twitter), the site I used to create the event, apparently won't let you view it without being a registered user, which I did not realize. Seems I inadvertently did the most offensive and suspicious thing anyone has ever done, ever, by posting such a link. I was wrong to assume people knew what EhNow is, so here's a video about it.

For me, it's not even "Masto or Bust." It just makes sense to just use Mastodon if you want something like Twitter but Canadian. Why bother with reinventing the wheel?? If an ethical, Canadian-owned company started a Twitter alternative, and it is really good and popular I may consider using it but it would take a lot to convince me.
