The indigenous people around Huron named it "the fresh water sea"... bullshit how would they know what non freshwater sea was?

Im not claiming the indeginois people were ignorant. They were surrounded by freshwater. It was called the lake of many shores...the French called it the freshwater sea. Have some perspective yall

  • People transferred or married into tribes occasionally and there was trade. If you were Huron you probably traded with Iroquois and if you were Fox you probably occasionally traded with Wampanaog and Lenovo which were on the eastern sea board.

Of course, savages couldn't possibly know anything about the world outside their 10km radius. Ass. THEY HAD SURGERY. They had pan-continental trade. THE NAME OF NORTH AMERICA IS TURTLE ISLAND. They fucking know what an ocean is.
