Okay but he didn't say they were, the word Comrade is hundreds of years old and derived from Latin, though Marx and later the USSR and China (neither of which countries are communist) all incentivize(d) "Comrade" as it didn't have the hierarchical connotations that Senor, Monsieur, and Mister all have being derived from titles of authority.

What was that whole collective farming thing they were trying at then? I know Stalin was just taking advantage of the whole thing, but Kruschev et al were definitely trying at socialism, albeit failing miserably.
