Nah, I messed up looking at the answer, not with the math.

You messed up the math, so how is this admitting your mistake?

No, I didn't. The math was fine, it was me not counting the places in the answer correctly that was the problem.

No, it's not. The numbers used to derive the answer were correct. I did not forget to multiply by the K. I read the answer wrong when I transferred it.

My math was correct, my reading wasn't.

    Cost to give every household rooftop solar: 133m × $22.5k = $3b

Should be "133m × $22.5k = $3000b"... or 3 trillion. You don't think the right side of the equation is part of the math?

Apparently I'm not the only one making reading errors here.

If you think I have made an error, feel free to point it out. I prefer being corrected than being wrong.

I've never understood why people are so reluctant to admit mistakes. Insecurity? I have no problem with it.

The person I initially responded to said that the reason I was off by a factor of 1000 was because I forgot to multiply by the K in the price.

I said the actual reason I was off by 1000 was because when I glanced at the calculator I read the result wrong. The math was right, my reading comprehension wasn't.

I was never arguing that the answer I put in the comment wasn't wrong. I even edited it.
