Everybody most certainly did not switch over! They hard forked it and sure some people moved to the new fork because they liked the maintainers more and it has the community they vibe with, but a lot of people stayed with the old one and are still using it. The trademark stayed with the original fork, which means the new fork had to develop a new flag which not everyone in the community is stoked about...

There's a couple side-forks with small communities, like Omni, but most people consider them pretty niche.
