Suing unknown means suing to obtain judicial means to determine the identity of the defendant. For instance, you can't just ask Valve to hand out information about the owner of a given account. But if a judge finds that it may be relevant to identifying that "unknown", they can order Valve to hand out that information. permalink fedilink source parent
