It's genuinely crazy that Chiang Kai-shek/Jiang Jeshi was about 5 minutes from getting deposed only to be saved by the Japanese invading Manchuria.

Not saying Wang Jingwei would've been...good or better [its wang Jingwei]. But it certainly would have been interesting.
Plus its massively ironic and funny Chiang was saved because he had to "fight" the Japanese.
