Can we not "lesser evil" the guy whose policies made someone like trump inevitable?

Bush 2 is a direct line to trump. From courting the evangelicals and bringing their supply side Jesus to the front to legitimizing stubbornness and agressive ignorance as quality in a presidency. He ran on not skill, competence, and education, but “who do you want your drinking buddy to be?” Literally. If you were around when he ran the unofficial question was “who would you rather have a beer with?” Hence the news paying attention to Obama’s occasional beer, and Obama having a drink with whomever.

Bush mashed the accelerator pedal on all the things needed to make it easier for the far right to swoop in and take over.

Exactly. I remember Bush. The guy was a reviled idiot.

Sure. Bush was a horrible piece of shit... But compared to Trump, he at least pretended to be decent, which isn't saying a lot, and saying he wasn't as bad as the current President isn't really defending him, either

Stage 1 cancer isn't as bad as stage 4 cancer. But without stage 1, there wouldn't be a stage 4, so it's weird to defend stage 1 and reminisce about how much better it was.

Except nobody is defending anything. It's perfectly valid to say "wow, remember how much stage 1 cancer sucked? Stage 4 sucks even worse than that."

It's kind of weird that you think any comments that aren't just constant, overt condemnation are 'defending' or reminiscing about the good ol' days
