Cat, trapped inside: How dare you lock me in here!

Is that why cats want to be there whenever you're using the bathroom? They're doing their duty of protecting you

[–] rockerface@lemmy.cafe 63 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

This is unironically the case. Cats consider you part of the pack and want to be on the lookout when you're in a vulnerable position. If they've bonded with you, at least.

My cat just wants to drink from the sink and gets pissed if I don't turn it on

[–] rockerface@lemmy.cafe 40 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

As a part of his pack, it's your responsibility to ensure he's well hydrated

Yeah that's why she has a bowl filled with fresh filtered water. This cat spends all night scrapping with street cats then demands that tap water straight out the streets. None of that bitch ass frufru filtered water.

Have you tried a fountain? My male cat drinks a lot more with it.

Our female cat prefers a large bowl though. So there’s no rhyme or reason to what cats like.

Yeah I tried the fountain but she just plays with it and won't drink from it getting water everywhere. She will drink the bowl water if necessary but def prefers the sink in the bathroom.

My cat would only drink from the tap, but very little. No other tricks would work. I started adding water to his wet food for fear of his kidneys not lasting. Would recommend. I know my cat gets recommended amount of water without needing any water bowls (though I still keep a few around).

Not a bad idea thanks

This is ridiculous. How are you going to defend your back from ghosts while holding a cat with two hands? Obviously you need two cats.

Secure one to the front of your body and one to the back of your body with straps. Maybe one in each side for good measure. Cat helmet? Cat helmet.

There was a "troll science" about surviving a fall that involved doing this.

Lmao I have this

[–] moseschrute@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago

Now we need a cat in a hat to protect your head!

[–] HoneyMustardGas@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago

You need four for each cardinal direction.

Speaking as someone with plantar fasciitis who can't walk ten feet without inserts: you sleep on a different floor from your bathroom?

[–] Rakonat@lemmy.world 15 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Wait, people can get up to use the bathroom without the cat following you regardless?

[–] ccunix@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago

My cat considers using the toilet a team sport. She also feels a trip down to the kitchen is the only acceptable way to finish too.

[–] schema@lemmy.world 13 points 2 weeks ago

If I die to a ghost, at least I die knowing that ghosts exist, so I can come back and haunt the shit out of everyone.

[–] NONE_dc@lemmy.world 8 points 2 weeks ago

Isn't there a post here from someone who did the exact same thing, but with their goldfish?

[–] Dasus@lemmy.world 6 points 2 weeks ago

If you walk down the stairs like that; you're gonna have a bad time.
