I know one white South African I'd like to see go back…

[–] isVeryLoud@lemmy.ca 28 points 3 days ago (1 children)

He's not welcome in Canada

[–] daychilde@lemmy.world 22 points 3 days ago (4 children)

Well, I assume we'd be sending him back to South Africa… lol

That said, let's send him to Russia. Or Antarctica. heh

[–] SeductiveTortoise@piefed.social 10 points 3 days ago (1 children)

What a monster you are. His dream is to colonize Mars, let's fulfill his wish! Strap him to one of his rockets and off he goes!

[–] edgemaster72@lemmy.world 6 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Yeah, let's Fry that sonofabitch. By which, of course, I mean make him the first man on Mars. Or attempt to. Either is good.

Luck Of The Fryish.

Have we considered a small flimsy sub deep in the ocean?

[–] daychilde@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago

TITANic idea!

[–] Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works 5 points 3 days ago (1 children)

He loves space so much, let's send him to the sun.

[–] daychilde@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago (1 children)

It's actually extremely hard to send things to the sun. There's a huge amount of energy in our orbit around the sun that has to be overcome. :)

[–] ibelieveinthehousehippo@lemmy.ca 4 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I think it would suffice to just launch in the general direction of the sun.

[–] daychilde@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

Only because he would orbit for a very long time and run out of oxygen, sure.

[–] isVeryLoud@lemmy.ca 4 points 3 days ago (1 children)

He supposedly has Canadian citizenship through his mother... Yuck

[–] Bloomcole@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago

He can get a Hunka ovation in parliament

'I Don't Want to Live in a Place Like This'

According to trump these people are persecuted and discriminated against at levels requiring asylum.

Under the administration's own narrative they would rather be discriminated against and perscuted than live in trump's USA.

Let that sink in...either it is so bad here they would rather go back to the country they fled because it was so bad they had to flee or every single thing this administration says is complete and utter bullshit.

Neither of those options are good. Fucking shower of bastards.

[–] takeda@lemmy.dbzer0.com 19 points 3 days ago

It is clearly bullshit and the article actually says that it isn't even violence against them, but things like mass shootings.

Also at the end of the article:

Some returnees say the move is motivated by lifestyle factors rather than security. Naomi Saphire, who lived in the United States for two decades, moved back to South Africa's Western Cape last year. "My heart is just full of gratefulness to be here," she said, adding that her children spend more time outdoors and that health insurance is more affordable, according to Reuters.

They went thinking that they would profit for the privileges that structural racism give to white people without weighing in that the same racist structures affects then as immigrants.

[–] Akasazh@lemmy.world 15 points 3 days ago

Yeah you need much money to reach the protected class in the states.

The racism only gets you so far
