Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) rebuked the Democratic nominee in the Maine Senate race on Friday, saying scandal-plagued Graham Platner is “not even a Democrat.”

“We’re the party of pearl clutching, and now we’ve embraced him because we don’t have a choice,” Fetterman told Fox News’s Laura Ingraham in an interview Friday.

“Like if you can’t really defend him, you could at least say, well, he has a ‘D’ after his name, but he’s not even a Democrat,” he continued. “He actually described himself as a communist.”

I'm glad Fetterman is out there giving the best endorsement possible!

[–] leadore@lemmy.world 7 points 6 days ago

"He's not even a Democrat"

As they used to say when I was a kid: "Takes one to know one!"

[–] fartographer@lemmy.world 5 points 6 days ago

You can tell he's not a real Democrat because real Democrats like Fetterman vote R.

Also, a politician named Fetterman who votes to fund concentration camps is Shakespearean-grade irony.

Fascist in sheep's clothing says what?

[–] Tolookah@discuss.tchncs.de 144 points 1 week ago

As we've learned from fetterman himself, having a D next to your name doesn't mean much.

[–] Semi_Hemi_Demigod@lemmy.world 113 points 1 week ago

If Fetterman is a Democrat I prefer someone who’s not.

[–] the_riviera_kid@lemmy.world 90 points 1 week ago (1 children)

What the fuck would fetterman know about being a democrat?

[–] JigglySackles@lemmy.world 19 points 1 week ago

How to pose as one long enough to dupe people into voting him in.

"He's not even a Democrat,"

Fetterman told Fox News’s Laura Ingraham in an interview Friday.

On Fox News, lol. Let that sink in.

Fetterman's so busy trying to fuck Platner he thinks that Fox News -- MAGA central and 100% invested in decrepit old Collins -- is exactly the place to get the word out to potential Platner voters, and reach the undecided who are already sick of MAGA shit.

It is also possible no other media will let Fetterman speak as if he has anything valid or sane left to say.

Either way, I'm thrilled. The right clearly has no idea where Platner is getting his votes from, any more than Orban's team knew where Magyar was getting his votes from in Hungary last month.

A fake Dem goes on Fox News to tell anyone who will listen that Platner is a fake Dem, lol. I love this for them.

Exactly my take.

john fetterman died from a fatal stroke.

[–] teyrnon@sh.itjust.works 16 points 1 week ago (1 children)

He was a piece of shit before the stroke, he just hadn't revealed it entirely yet.

[–] Snapz@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago (1 children)

It is a lot of revisionist history. If you actually tuned in early on and listened in any depth, it was real.

I can't find it now, but there was one earlier interview in particular on CNN/MSNBC, maybe when he was running for lieutenant governor? It was in front of a Sheetz or a Wawa and he genuinely felt like he could be a viable presidential candidate one day. Clear, confident and progressive positions expressed very matter of fact.

The person you see today is not the same person. Again, john fetterman died.

[–] teyrnon@sh.itjust.works -2 points 6 days ago (1 children)

That is bullshit, I knew Fetterman was a piece of shit from the start. Due to his unqualified support for Israel and fracking.

I saw it, the intercept saw and said it at some point before the election as well.

If you didn't see it, it just means you failed.

[–] Snapz@lemmy.world 4 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Before "the election"... what are you taking about, guy? Fetterman has held several local and state offices before the stroke. Those were years of saying shit and delivering tangible outcomes, that's how he advanced to national prominence, not because he wore shorts.

But again, that fetterman was real, and died from a stroke.

[–] teyrnon@sh.itjust.works -2 points 6 days ago

You were just not insightful enough to see what he was like. Learn a lesson or some shit.

[–] homes@piefed.world 39 points 1 week ago

I couldn’t think of a better endorsement

[–] a_non_monotonic_function@lemmy.world 32 points 1 week ago (3 children)

People of PA, if you see this degenerate please give him a swift kick in the balls.

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Probably not a good idea, since he's enormous and could seriously hurt most people simply by falling on them.

Better to accelerate rocks, manure, and rotten produce at him from a distance.

[–] a_non_monotonic_function@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

These projectiles are being accelerated towards his balls though, right? As God intended?

Balls and face, yes

[–] d5273@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

Remember, it was the F-erman vs Dr. Oz in that race. One coin has 2 faces.

[–] qarbone@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Give him a strike in the balls at any speed you're capable of. Just make sure it hurts.

[–] NM_Gringo@lemmy.world 30 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Seems like Platner is not popular with the brain damage crowd.

[–] DarkCloud@lemmy.world 29 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

American conservatives use the "Fascists deserve free speech, people I call communists do not" all the time.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

And also, it turns out - they think virtually everyone is a communist. Certainly anyone not bootlicking DonOLD is a communist in their eyes.

But these are the same smoothbrains that think corporate media like ABC, PBS, NPR, CNN, etc....are "liberal", too, LOL.

[–] unspkbl_horror@lemmy.world 29 points 1 week ago

Well, neither are you, biotch. And at least he's the good kind of not-a-democrat Democrat

[–] bitteroldcoot@piefed.social 26 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Umm John, neither are you anymore.

In fact, most people just think you're maga.

[–] shweddy@lemmy.world 26 points 1 week ago

At least he's not a filthy magat

[–] KiloGex@lemmy.world 21 points 1 week ago

That's fucking rich.

[–] Zier@fedia.io 20 points 1 week ago

Fetterman needs to plug himself into a light socket.

[–] JasonDJ@lemmy.zip 17 points 1 week ago

Hi, Pot...I'd like to introduce you to Kettle...

[–] Sonicdemon86@lemmy.world 15 points 1 week ago

If he wants to be in "the party of pearl clutching" then go join the Republicans and fuck off you piece of shit.

[–] mortalblade@lemmy.dbzer0.com 9 points 1 week ago

if only he actually was a communist

[–] TheTimeKnife@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago

Fetterman is such an unrepetent jackass

[–] kurmudgeon@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago

John Fetterman hasn't had enough strokes yet.

[–] Maeve@kbin.earth -5 points 1 week ago

I hate how main instances consider this kind of shit newsworthy.
