Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

[–] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 10 points 1 week ago (1 children)

He's being polite, I guess?

[–] Crackhappy@lemmy.world 1 points 4 days ago

I really want to know why this former President who doesn't need to, is holding back his tongue so much.

[–] Signtist@bookwyr.me 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Reports say your bank account may be emptier after blowing all your money at the strip club.

He's incredibly wealthy so to him nothing much has changed so he's unsure.

[–] Stupidmanager@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Plausible deniability. If he’s wrong he can say nothing, if he’s right he can say “I said it here”.

The guy as president was the first step in the right direction of killing off everything we see today in the USA. But no, evil won and he just gives minimal shits and sound bites.

It was a small smouldering fire on the kitchen stove before Trump .... now the entire kitchen is on fire ... but everyone is sitting in the living room trying to ignore the smoke that's filling up the rest of the house.

[–] empireOfLove2@lemmy.dbzer0.com 60 points 1 week ago

While your dementia riddled grandpa keeps repeating that the house has never been better, the kitchen is spotless clean, and that a delicious dinner will be coming out any second now

[–] Retro_unlimited@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

The fire was a distraction while he sold off everything inside.

Greenland is now asking Trump to invade, hoping to secure a deal similar to the one Iran got.

[–] Zron@lemmy.world 11 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I would also take a hard pounding if I got 300 billion dollars out of it.

[–] D_C@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 week ago

I'd take a hard pounding for a burrito and a bottle of nice beer...

Just kidding, you'll not need the burrito and beer.

We were worse off before the Iran war...

But we're even worse off now

[–] pjwestin@lemmy.world 31 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Just like we were worse off after the Iraq War. And the Afghanistan War. And the Vietnam War. And the Korean War. Starting to wonder who these are for.

[–] 4grams@awful.systems 14 points 1 week ago (1 children)
[–] pjwestin@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 18 points 1 week ago

May be?

Donnie dumbass ruins everything.

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@piefed.world 14 points 1 week ago (3 children)

I'd love to hear what he has to say in private.

[–] _chris@lemmy.world 25 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yeah I wish we had leaders who would take a stand in public. All of this measured disapproval is just enabling more Nazis.

[–] plutopos@lemmy.zip 7 points 1 week ago

He can't even be re-elected anymore, he doesn't need to watch his tone or anything. But maybe he wants to look all classy and detached lol

[–] Alienmonkey@mander.xyz 4 points 1 week ago

these clown faced chucklefucks are going to diddle this place so sideways we'll be lucky to make it back to the stone age

[–] Brkdncr@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

[–] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

I miss the days when our president was a statesman and not a conman

[–] Aceticon@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 1 week ago

No shit, Sherlock!

[–] yakko@feddit.uk 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Why does Obama look like Biden lmao

[–] frongt@lemmy.zip 12 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Shit and he's really only 64? The presidency really does age you

[–] idiomaddict@lemmy.world 10 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

He’s going to be 66 in august, but that doesn’t diminish your point at all. It’s still wild to see how much older he looked after the presidency than before.

[–] plutopos@lemmy.zip 6 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

He went from looking like a teenager to a mysterious and morally ambiguous character in a sci-fi story

[–] Jerb322@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Yarp, what was it? $500 billion, worse! And I'm probably going to have to pay for my colonoscopy coming up.

[–] GoatSynagogue@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

I’m sure democrat former president and current string puller Obama is completely unbiased in his assessment.

[–] Sam_Bass@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

considering our oil reserves are depleted, i'd agree with that
