Russia needs a big bad EU to justify its aggression.

Lol they're not even ready for Ukrainian attacks.

They still have millions of men they can mobilize. Unfortunately.

Millions of men with pointy sticks aren't really a military threat in this day and age.

[–] BarnWolf@lemmy.world 4 points 9 hours ago

I mean they're not, not a threat either. Never underestimate you our enemy. That's a mistake.

Stupid ass Russians, nobody wants to attack them, we want peace.

I mean that’s one way to end the Ukraine war. Just probably not how they want.

He cautioned that the documents point to preparation and capability, not a settled decision, stressing that readiness to act does not mean an order to attack has been given.

When this man speaks it's good to listen.

Ok, but what I'm hearing isn't exactly good for Russia.

First, he has to make a statement about defense capability. The only times a sitting government really needs to make that assurance is if there has been something done to shake the confidence in defense or this is an election issue, and last I checked there isn't a contested election occurring soon.

Second, it is odd to point to the EU as the foe to defeat. Russia is already in a war with Ukraine; why isn't he giving assurances to the actual belligerent Russia is fighting?
