How are they drinking the coffee if they have the masks on to work?

[–] RagingRobot@lemmy.world 15 points 6 days ago

That's not a wire, it's a really long straw

if you are shipping 3 major updates in a single day, something probably went super wrong.

[–] Reginald_T_Biter@lemmy.world 5 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Couldn't they just roll them into one? The whole post is tonally deaf to the extreme.

[–] ZILtoid1991@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago

No, we must uphold a continuous and unsustainable hype around our products, that requires frequent major updates!

[–] smeenz@lemmy.nz 2 points 6 days ago

To be fair, it didn't say they were all on the same project.

[–] muusemuuse@sh.itjust.works 23 points 6 days ago

Its the future, bro!

[–] lemmydividebyzero@reddthat.com 25 points 6 days ago (2 children)

3 major updates in the morning and 30 major bug reports during the rest of the day?

[–] matlag@sh.itjust.works 8 points 6 days ago

No, don't worry: all the tests are done by AI, and they're all ok with the output. It may create some tensions with the users in production with behaviors the users don't expect or understand, but we no longer call those bugs, it's all because human users are inefficient and should be replaced by AI assistants.

Management decided that the issue tracking system should be set up by the intern, using an LLM to slop out the configuration. The good news is they don't receive any bug reports...ever.

this is what happens when you let someone who gets stuck in vim make a company

[–] daychilde@lemmy.world 12 points 6 days ago

As if these people have heard of vim

But yes

“100x developer”

OKAY BUDDY 😂

[–] HaraldvonBlauzahn@feddit.org 7 points 6 days ago

Why so pessimistic? 1000000x developer sounds much better! /s

Fun fact: The average Linux kernel developer adds probably less than 1100 lines of code per person-year to the kernel. It's estimated 40,000,000 lines of code with over 40,000 person-years of work as input.

Can't wait to repeat myself in slightly different ways to get the damn thing to do what i want....

[–] WorldsDumbestMan@lemmy.today 8 points 6 days ago

Needs to be more furry, for that extra touch.

Maybe pig-snout shapped, and with pig-ear headphones.

Ths guy types like an LLM too.

I guess if you wear one of these you are probably expected to speak to the AI so much that you won't have the time to think about how ridiculous your job is and how insane you look.

[–] HaraldvonBlauzahn@feddit.org 2 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

Wait, funtastic brain-computerinterfaces are already in the making. In few years, you can plug the AI directly into your brain!

[–] ProbablyUnwise@anarchist.nexus 13 points 6 days ago (1 children)

actually I need one of these for when the d&d session goes into overtime and I'm talking on voip while the wife is sleeping 😂

[–] Landless2029@lemmy.world 5 points 6 days ago

I've legit woken up the wife while playing D&D...

She asked me what got me so loud and I had no answer because it was a 5 hr session

"You merely adopted some dumbass shit. I was born in some dumbass shit!"

[–] SpaceCowboy@lemmy.ca 4 points 6 days ago

This is a really big code base...

"For you."

[–] FrChazzz@lemmus.org 11 points 6 days ago

That ad-copy... The producers of an infomercial would have told them to tone it down.

[–] Evotech@lemmy.world 6 points 6 days ago

Absolute cope pretending that typing speed is somehow the limiting factor here

[–] HugeNerd@lemmy.ca 5 points 6 days ago

Hey pop a Fleshlight in there and suddenly tomorrow's bus ride to work is starting to look good
