That's the equivalent of hating women because they will "take your [sons] from you," or hating men because they will "take your [daughters] from you."

A gay person isn't making a choice between their orientation and their parents; there is no reason they can't have both in their lives. I know plenty of young L/Gs who have totally normal relationships with their parents, no different from any straight kid. If they are being forced to choose, then the only ones forcing that choice are the parents.
