Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.
Example:

- Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
- Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
- No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
- Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
- No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.
That's all the rules!

I'll always laugh at this, it fits everything
I'm really curious if he/they recognized the meme potential of this when they made it. They both seem pretty smart, so I think it has to be a consideration at least. Maybe it was the entire goal? Regardless, it's perfect and I love seeing it every time.
Stripping an American of rights and locking him up in a gulag?
Tuberville is un-American and I wish his voters knew or cared.
They're pissing their pants.
"The poors are learning about socialism!"
This is what it's about. Thank you.
It's not just socialism, it's kindness and the exemplification of a civil servant actually seeking to serve the will of the people.
In many ways, we're simply talking about the concept of a true republic here.
This is a rare vision of the America the founding fathers envisioned.
These snowflakes are terrified of this guy.
If I spent my career pretending to be indignant at the inefficiency and ineffectiveness of the government while cosplaying as someone trying to fix the problem, I’d also be scared of the guy who showed it’s not only possible to bring about positive change, but possible to do in less than one term.
They really will do or say anything but their job, huh?
If we're being real, Mamdami hasn't even gotten his big plans rolling yet. He passed an easy tax (for people owning houses that don't even live in NYC) and fixed some potholes. His biggest win was bartering with the state government to get more support (instead of the dreaded "tax the rich"). The rest was normal stuff with good PR aimed at the 21st century. That's it.
But these relics spent decades minmaxing for cable news and can't look human on social media at all. They are used to saying words then doing nothing. The bar is that low and they are scared at a dude bending his knees (he hasn't even jumped yet).
At least they are finally breaking their fake decorum and sayong the quiet parts out loud. Makes it so much easier to tear down in the long term.
Conservatives have to demonize socialism because they know it's the only possible thing that could pose a realistic threat to their greedy, cruel and self-serving lifestyles.
Ironically, this rhetoric from a politician should be an arrestable offense.
Core Features
One Ruler: Power belongs to a single leader or a small group with no free elections.
Extreme Pride: People are taught to love their country above all else, often looking down on other groups.
No Freedom: The government uses police and military force to silence anyone who disagrees.
Strict Control: Businesses and daily life are heavily watched and run to match the goals of the state.
This should be an impeachable offense for any elected official.
I agree! And since we're dreaming, we need a way for the People to directly impeach federal ~~employees~~ elected or appointed officials (edited). I'm so sick of witnessing impeachable offenses on a daily basis while our "representatives" sit on their thumbs, counting their bribes.
When politicians say things like that with no repercussions, that's when you should know you are no longer in a respectable democracy
Guess ol Tommy had to say something ridiculous to get back in the news. Probably had to go see the king and needed some recognition.
He should fall down more stairs.
Another American Politician showing more care for Israel and Bibi than for his own constituents or country.
God we really, desperately need to root these people out of seats of power.
A senator openly calls for arresting a mayor, without naming any crimes, since none were committed, and sending him to the illegal prison where only innocent people are sent and tortured for no reason other than guards' enjoyment.
People like him belong in high security prisons, ideally far away from society. Assuming they won't receive capital punishment.
Sure. If he actually has an arrest warrant out for him. WHICH HE DOESN'T. Do you know who does? BIBI!
Ha ha go fuck yourself MAGAt moron.
Also pretty sure the entirety of NY would put up a fight over that if they tried.
This is a nice case study about why democracies should never ever ever tolerate the existence of zones outside the rule of regular law. Guantanamo in this idiot's brain is a stand-in for an oubliette.
This fucktwat will do anything to distract from the fact that he's a moron and a person who committed election fraud.
Arrested for what, exactly? What fucking law?
Who is going to stand up to these people?
I'm so tired of Petey Potatotown.
Isn't "thug" one of those far-right dogwhistles? Calling him "towelhead" would have been too on the nose
Funny coming from a guy who should be hung.
Not to be a nitpicker, but its "hanged" not "hung". Hung is the past tense of hanging something up (Jimmy went and hung up his coat). The past tense of the execution is hanged (Jimmy was hanged at dawn in town square).
How is that not being a nitpicker? From the MW usage guide.
The distinction between hanged and hung is not an especially useful one (although a few commentators claim otherwise). It is, however, a simple one and certainly easy to remember. Therein lies its popularity. If you make a point of observing the distinction in your writing, you will not thereby become a better writer, but you will spare yourself the annoyance of being corrected for having done something that is not wrong.
They were used completely interchangeably for centuries and still are to some extent. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
e: shrugger lost his arm
Someone should throw old Tommy in the klink as well. That dude is dumber then a sack of nails.
Checks out, since Guantanamo Bay is for people who can't be charged with anything.
I feel like we should have a list of all these unhinged politicians top donors and their addresses for situations like this.
Sadly, this trend of someone saying an incredibly reasonable thing that is in line with modern civilization and a MAGAt dropping the amazing reply of calling them stupid without providing any evidence, counterargument, or any effort at all seems to be resonating with low information voters. Things are not looking good, gang.
Tommy Tuberville sounds like a Stan Lee character that Spider-Man fights as a villain when he tries to go on holiday.
Tommy Tuberville's smell test on who should be sent to gitmo:
- Trying to help the taxpayers
- Trying to suffer less in life
- Anyone who has ever looked at a rainbow flag
- Anyone committing crimes so heinous that Tuberville becomes scared that you'll uncover his fetishes
Getting threatened with gitmo by Tuberville means there's a 75% chance that you're pretty cool.
Wait this was the guy who halted the promotion of a whole bunch of Pentagon personnel because he was mad that the military was covering abortions, right?
This is the same cumstain who blocked military promotions to stick to the leftist. Go get Graham'ed
Tommy Tuberville can suck my nuts from the back.
That doesnt sound very democratic of him
Nick Saban if you can hear me right now I have a favor to ask, I know YOU know Tommy Tuberville is dumber than a sackful of hammers, so please use the absurd level of influence you have over the state of Alabama to call for someone in Alabama to take care of him if you know what I’m saying.
Someone murdered a bunch of sentimentally valuable trees for you without your asking, they would jump at this opportunity
