When Graham appeared on Sean Hannity’s Fox News program afterward, she attempted to recover by pivoting from her lack of national security knowledge to transgender athletes, as The Advocate reported.

“Of course, Taiwan is our friend,” Graham said. “But I think people in South Carolina are more worried about making ends meet. They are concerned about boys in girls’ sports.”

Trump continued that strategy Friday by making transgender people a central part of his argument for Graham. He attacked Andrews as a “far-left political hack who supports transgender for everybody” and accused her of telling “confused children they’re trapped in the wrong body.”

...

Trump may have conflated those medical procedures with agreements his Justice Department has forced on two major hospital systems. Those settlements require Texas Children’s Hospital and the Cleveland Clinic to establish or fund services for people who voluntarily seek to detransition. They do not order hospitals to perform surgery on anyone.

In May, Texas Children’s agreed to pay the state $10 million, end gender-affirming care for minors and establish what federal officials called the country’s first “restorative care” clinic for detransitioners. The Houston hospital also agreed to terminate five physicians connected to its transgender health program and permanently revoke their privileges, as The Advocate reported.

Isn’t this just government mandated gender affirming surgery?

It’s the government affirming the gender in this picture

[–] M0oP0o@mander.xyz 19 points 2 days ago (1 children)

They are putting dicks on people? Where are they sourcing them? Are they removing some dicks, to put them on other people? This seems like the wildest nonsence yet.

Now we know where RFKs raccoon peens are ending up.

[–] M0oP0o@mander.xyz 2 points 1 day ago

Oh, that makes a sickly amount of sense.

Could have voted for

Progress, but were told that Dems,

Make gay trans furries

[–] Bakkoda@lemmy.world 26 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Government says wear a mask = bad Government orders genital surgery = good

Am I getting this right?

[–] Nouvellalia@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

Looking at how many American men were circumcised in the last few generations, for no reason other than it being gently suggested by the government, Yes, apparently that's the way it is.

People love forcing genital pain onto others to make themselves feel better, but hate it if others are allowed to do anything to their genitals themselves. I think it's the abrahamic religions? Because that's what they do there too.

[–] T00l_shed@lemmy.world 13 points 2 days ago

Yes, because the conservative mind is incapable of any critical thought. Just whatever heir leader says

[–] Doomsider@lemmy.world 26 points 2 days ago (1 children)

And the king decreed make that one a male and that one a female. The people cheered, he was going to fix this gender problem once and for all. Gender was no longer determined by silly things like genetics, feelings, or facts. Only he could bestow it upon the masses.

At first people would bribe him for the privilege of a different sex. The corrupt king would pray on poor souls who didn't fit in. Soon though, he realized his ultimate power. Humiliation.

"You are no longer male", he would scream at a general or diplomat. "You are whatever I say you are", the king would croak through his curled cruel smile as they were hauled away for forced gender change surgery.

[–] Nouvellalia@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

OMG if trump cut off kegseth's dick, and then got on stage and said something like "he did woman things and the iran killed a battleship, so I gave him a pussy" these idiots really would cheer and parade him around as a [slur], to use as an "example" of how "horrible trans people are".

[–] Sam_Bass@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

he is the absolute most unfunny joke alive

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 123 points 3 days ago (15 children)

MAGA thinks they smell blood in the water on the trans issue, so that's their chosen wedge issue for the foreseeable future. I'm the past it was abortion, flag burning, kneeling, gay adoption, gay marriage, gay gayness, etc.

The proper answer to any trans nonsense is: "I am not a doctor, and I won't presume to interfere with the medical decisions between any patient and their doctor, on any subject. I have absolutely no opinions on this subject, and do not consider it an appropriate subject for a political discussion. It is an appalling and indefensible political strategy to use any medical issue as a political talking point, so I'm not interested in your opinion either."

That works for ANY medical issue, including abortion.

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 59 points 3 days ago (4 children)

I asked my idiot aunt (who won't admit to being a Trump supporter but is) why can't politicians leave medical decisions to medical professionals. She said medical professionals can't be trusted because they work for the government. That's how fucking stupid she is. We need the government to intervene in medical decisions because we can't trust professionals who work for the government

[–] Kirp123@lemmy.world 32 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Aren't most medical professionals in the US working for private companies?

Trans rights are human rights.

Abortion is healthcare.

I would rather push back more directly than try to dodge the conversation.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 day ago

They always need someone to persecute. It's the only thing their base wants in life: a good lynching.

And one third of Americans believe this shit

[–] InvalidName2@lemmy.zip 15 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Yep. A few years ago there was that whole spiel about how Democrats were putting litter boxes in public school classrooms so that the kids who identify as animals would have a place to relieve themselves. I heard someone actively talking about it while grocery shopping at one point.

Trump himself has claimed children are getting gender affirming surgery IN SCHOOL and I can tell you that there are men and women out there, this very year in 2026, who have made statements implying they would kill the teachers involved. Like, it's complete fantasy, they just love to be angry and act tough about stuff that's not happening and never will.

[–] dion_starfire@lemmy.world 15 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The litter box thing gets even better - the root of it was a school that did indeed have litter boxes in every classroom, meant for human use. But it had nothing to do with Therian kids identifying as cats. It was in response to the question "what if a kid needs to use the bathroom during an active shooter lockdown?"

[–] pega_sus@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Therian

Woah slow down, don't think they know those words yet. You might cause an aneurysm.

I saw a guy at Home Depot today with a shirt that said "if genders confuse you, try milking a bull" and I'm like, first off that's essentially what we are good at but also, this guy's so wrapped up in culture wars that don't actually affect him, he's wearing a shirt about jerking off farm animals in public, and that seems OK to him. It's well past the point of parody anymore and it can only collapse as people tune it all out like any other odd fad.

[–] funkless_eck@sh.itjust.works 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

you have to keep cows pregnant to milk them. If he was to attempt to milk a non pregnant cow his paradigm of milkable would collapse.

He is so fucking stupid. It makes me cringe thinking that this moron is in charge and all the other branches just bent over for this ugly fat worthless child rapist.

[–] anarchy79@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

I was reading this and thought, shit, is that one of my comments? Because that's exactly something I would say. And then I remember, we all feel like that.

If they are putting dicks on trans women that had bottom surgery, there's nothing to stop me getting another one or five grafted on.

5 dicks. How do your condoms fit?

He makes something up that his hardcore fanatics would consider "good". That's all.

He is running into the situation that even his core base notices that they cannot afford food or fuel anymore, and that his ICE is not just taking "criminals" off the streets, but also their underpaid and exploitable ~~slaves~~ employees.

[–] Terrorphin@thelemmy.club 4 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Transgender for everyone doesn't sound good though, does it? I mean - isn't that going a bit too far?

[–] JacobCoffinWrites@slrpnk.net 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

You have to open negotiations with a strong position you can afford to negotiate down from

"you drive a hard bargain Christian moron. Ok then, how about instead of transitioning you, I offer myself up in your place? This will prove to your god I am a good and kind person, and you can put the gun away trying to convert me."

[–] chewypoops@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

As a Democrat, I won't rest until every public schoolchild is transgender. Especially the Christian ones.
