$5 delivery

Ugh. They always try to get you with the shipping... Pass.

I'm not from the US, what's wrong with it?

It's a joke reference to sellers who will list items for very cheap, but with very high postage costs, to try to trick people into viewing their product more favourably. Nothing actually wrong in this instance.

i see thanks

I don't know if it's changed or not, but back when I used eBay all the time, they took their cut out of the sale price of the item, shipping charges were untouched. So if you sold something for a dollar and charged $100 shipping, eBay's percentage only came out of the dollar.

I'm glad this wasn't the final design. Those haptic pads and small sticks look awful to use.

Nonetheless, this is cool as hell to see!

I'd bet they're steam controller touch pads, and they're quite a bit bigger than the final steam deck ones. Probably normal sized sticks too, with that in mind. The sizes are relatively identical to my steam controller

I really prefer the Steam Controller track pads, shoulder buttons and triggers, they're just much more clicky.

[–] tehmics@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago

I don't think I have a preference on the touchpads honestly but I vastly prefer the steam deck controls overall. Been hoping for a standalone steam controller 2 ever since it came out

Isn't that mostly an unenforceable request? And the fact that's probably stolen or whoever got it had a non disclosure agreement probably is a bigger deal

[–] tehmics@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Did you respond to the wrong person or something?

[–] Railcar8095@lemm.ee 1 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Seems so. I remember a "not for resale" remark somewhere.

[–] tehmics@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago

Ah, well I agree that definitely looks unenforceable to me

[–] Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world 0 points 3 weeks ago

That's why you make prototypes.

[–] phx@lemmy.ca 38 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

With the "not for resale" stamp clearly shown to boot.

[–] Zachariah@lemmy.world 57 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (1 children)

No, the stamp is on the back.
The power button on the top is to boot.

Someone get this to Bringus Studios immediately.

100% half life 3 leaks on this bad boy

[–] uninvitedguest@lemmy.ca 6 points 3 weeks ago

TBH the front looks fine to me, though there's a strong likelihood of accidentally touching the touchpads while using the thumb sticks.

What I'm glad they fixed up are the back/grip buttons, as this prototype is "push" only, where as I almost exclusively use them as "squeeze". These are missing the L-shape where the button is built in to not just the back plate, but also the inside of the hand grip.
