The top image was broadcast as a JOKE on French TV in 2014. The lower image is a REAL weather report from June this year.

The worst part is when the top image was broadcast, people said that it was unrealistic and it would never get that hot, and now here we are, 24 years before the predicted time we're already surpassing all the predictions (I say prediction very loosely because I don't think there were any studies done)

Last time I checked, if you assume 3.5C global warming, the numbers are likely to reach 50C by 2050.

That'd be a nice little last number synchronicity for when I sweat myself to death on the upstairs loo.

Australian here: Oh, hello, back there in the past!

Australia’s highest temperature last summer (December 2025 - February 2026) was 50.0°C, recorded in South Australia at both:

    Andamooka — January 29, 2026 Port Augusta — January 30, 2026

Port Augusta’s reading was described as the farthest south that an official 50°C temperature had been recorded in Australia.

And we're heading into summer again! Whee!

They don’t label their cities? You just know what dot you live at?

Do you not know what area of the country you live in without having it spelt out for you?

Probably an American. Americans can't read maps.

If the country is the size of Ohio and has barely 5 cities that matter, yeah, you don't need labels.

Tomorrow is going to be 37-38 degrees in parts of France, which is not normal for September.
