Welp, the new search filters make app search even worse. Now you have to deselect anti-features for each search rather than the way it was before when you could set your preference once and forget it.

Shit like "AI chat" and crypto wallets have their own categories now — so you can just deselect them like anti-features and not have to see them, right? Wrong. Categories are hierarchical, not toggleable, so you just get funneled down into subcategories with no optout.

This screenshot only shows the first half of app categories, sorted alphabetically A-M. Because in their infinite wisdom we now have to wade through 17 game types, and other main categories have been divvied up granularly in the same way.

So overall there is even less chance to sort through the growing mass of apps, and no option to filter out stuff you don't want to see or have no interest in. I get it, there are F-droid devs who are really invested in techbro cult shit, and they think everybody need to share in their dumb kool-aid. It's their app, and they designed it for themselves, not for general users.

Open it. Search for f-droid. Click it. Scroll down, click on versions. Choose version 2.0 . Install it. You will force upgrading to the latest.

Looks like its gonna take a while longer: "We are excited to begin rolling out F-Droid 2.0 to users over the coming weeks after 14 test releases."
