Oh damn, Fdroid 2.0 does look pretty nice - even if I'll miss the iconically out-dated aesthetic. That said:

The official client is not the only way to access F-Droid apps, but now you’ll have less reason to seek out an alternative.

For me that reason is Shizuku. Droidify supports that and gives me what Fdroid cannot, one click frictionless app installation. Until the day Fdroid can do that, I have no reason to go back.

Updating from within F-droid still wants to install version 1.23.2 because they're rolling the new version out slowly, but you can select 2.0.0 manually.

Damn, it truly is unfortunate that fdroid is making upgrades right before Google gets them shut down, or is it no longer the case that fdroid will be discontinued once Android gets locked down?

I really hated the outdated design. This is much nicer.

Cool but I've been using Droidify and before that FoxyDroid. Always good to have choices.
