Earlier this year, Mr. Trump told reporters in the Oval Office that he believed he would have "the honor of taking Cuba."

"Taking Cuba in some form, yeah," he said in mid-March. "Taking Cuba. I mean, whether I free it, take it — I think I could do anything I want with it, if you want to know the truth."

The empire wants the world to believe that the empire is just as powerful now as it was at its height, so that people won't challenge the unipolar hegemony. Iran has already debased that image by debasing the US. Cuba is not going to be intimidated after decades of experience with this shitheaded empire. What matters most is what the material constraints are on the ground and yeah, Cuba is hurting from being under siege, but so is the empire in its own ways from the combination of its unsustainable warring with the entire world and its building internal infrastructure problems. Trump is probably hoping for a smash and grab with concessions, but what he'd be more likely to get is a quagmire full of dead US soldiers that brings the US crashing back to reality.

Here's hoping they're out of fuel in 90-120 days.

Do you guys think they'll really attack Cuba while the war in Iran is still ongoing? I know Rubio would love it, and Trump did say, "Cuba's going to be next."
