Never, according to Indivisible, the organization behind the protests. They're "against civil disobedience" hence why these are always on Saturdays.

    Here's an article about it:

In Maine, the DNC has apparently been "handling" Troy Jackson in an attempt to prevent another Graham Platner. Not the scandal, they helped bring that to light. They don't want another "radical" calling for the elimination of billionaires, just a moderate "progressive", just enough to get most of the team back on board. Sucks

Yeah, I read about that. I have zero doubts he'd be winning in the polls if he was just being himself. He hasn't even had a public appearance since the consultants took over, probably so no one can ask him why he's suddenly silent about Medicare for all and Palestine.

It's almost like they gave up. They can't possibly think this is working. The DNC motto is "if we can't win our way, we'd rather lose" and they appear to be following that.

Indivisible is just one of several partner organizations of No Kings. https://www.nokings.org/partners

Good point. I wonder how many of these disagree with the "no civil disobedience" stance that Indivisible has. I do think these protests are helpful overall, even if the organizations running it are doing it for the wrong reasons.

No strike, only funny signs! "I'm protesting!"

Hey, they're more effective than leaving pissy comments on a largely unknown platform and doing fuck-all IRL, eh?

No I'm pretty sure both have the same effectiveness.

You would say that, I have no doubt. Still, lightyears from being true, despite your wishes otherwise.

Prove it. Trump's still in office, Nazis are still running the streets, corps are still making record profits... I get that a lot of you need this to be something it isn't because you need to feel like you have some control, but holding signs for a couple of hours every few months will never fix anything. Reality doesn't care about how you perceive it.

Maybe, just maybe, if you got your salty ass off the computer and put that discontent to uses other than barking at randos online, the way forward for all of us'd be a smidge closer. Dunno.

You seem pretty worked up at your perceived impotence in the matter, and your projecting is affecting all of us by the related inaction. You do you, though. I'm full up on enduring any more of your edgy yarps, honestly. 🤷🏼‍♂️

The most powerful part of the protests for me has been seeing, in person, that there are a lot of sane people out there in the hellscape. That I’m not alone in all this. It gives me a glimmer of hope. Sitting in a dark room and hurling snark at the screen doesn’t do that.

Would I prefer that these protests accomplish more? Of course, and for that to happen it takes more people … in person.

more effective at annoying me. I saw a gaggle of protesters on my drive running errands. I support their message but If you're not being a problem for the people causing the problem then your protest amounts to a fit.

They're going to treat you like a toddler whining about nap time and just let you tire yourself out. If they're not afraid of you they won't take your concerns seriously.

One of the guttiest things I ever did was getting my balls removed, and I know a lot of people with testicles who are complete moral cowards.
