God I haven't watched it in yearsss, but from what I remember I'm pretty sure you have a mystery amount in your box in the middle, and you gradually eliminate the boxes around you. Ideally you want to get rid of the smaller amounts, because that means you're more likely to have a larger sum in your own box. And the banker will offer you amounts for your box based on the amounts that have been eliminated so far. It's very luck based

It'd be funny if someone just totally ignored all the nonsense the host spouts about the "strategy" of picking boxes and just went 1-20 in order until they got an offer they liked

I'd go the opposite way, I'd play out an intricate strategy based on the first few boxes, then use probability and high level maths to work out where I'd choose the next box.

....or that's what I'd tell 'em. I'd have a box in my head based on a completely random fact like, how many audience members are wearing red sweaters, or something else utterly stupid, and I wouldn't stop until I'd got a good offer or got to the end - I'd just keep feeding them absolute bollox until the second to last box and when they film the whole pause to open the last box, I'd tell them I made the whole theory up and open it so they couldn't cut it from the show.

The banker always lowballs, never offers more than you probability-wise stand to gain.

I have no idea how that game show where you have to predict the percentage of what the audience doesn't know or something
