Mr. T will always be Mr. T from the A-Team to me.

[–] rokae@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

The character is "b. a. baracus" lol but I get what you mean.

[–] DatBoomerGirl@lemmy.ca 1 points 14 hours ago

Damm I forgot. Thanks for reminding me.

[–] Mugmoor@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 2 days ago

The entire cast of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Danny Devito may have decades of work under his belt, but he'll always be Frank Reynolds to me.

That Blackberry movie that Glenn Howerton was in was decent, but I could not take Bald Dennis seriously.

Even when I see Elrond in LotR, that's actually just Agent Smith in a funny costume.

[–] hbar@lemmy.ml 8 points 3 days ago

I always call him Agent Elf

[–] hexthismess@hexbear.net 9 points 2 days ago

Laurence Fishbourne will always be Morpheous to me

[–] ultranaut@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Kevin Spacey will always be Kevin Spacey. I can't watch him act and see anything else but Kevin Spacey.

[–] Merlu@lemmy.ml 4 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Personally, i can't dissociate him from Frank Underwood.

[–] hbar@lemmy.ml 24 points 3 days ago

Vince Vaughn as Vince Vaughn in everything.

[–] Vinny_93@lemmy.world 22 points 3 days ago (4 children)

After Miracle Workers, Guns Akimbo and especially Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, Daniel Radcliffe is so much more than Harry Potter to me. He's got this almost Nicolas Cage-y vibe now

[–] nfreak@lemmy.ml 1 points 22 hours ago

He took the money from that franchise and went wild with it, doing whatever crazy ass roles he wants and it's so good to see. Not to mention how incredibly outspoken he's been about trans rights and JKR's bigotry.

[–] JustinTheGM@ttrpg.network 18 points 3 days ago

Don't forget Swiss Army Man!

[–] Merlu@lemmy.ml 4 points 2 days ago

For me, he'll always be Bruce Wayne.

[–] PolandIsAStateOfMind@lemmy.ml 4 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

A lot, but ones that stand up mostly (except few Polish ones which i won't mention because you wouldn't recognize them anyway) are Sean Connery as Marko Ramius, Patrick Stewart as Jean-Luc Picard and Tom Cruise as piece of wood.

Seeing Wayne Knight in Jurassic Park, wondering why Newman is there

[–] lobut@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

What about 3rd Rock From The Sun? I think Newman fits in quite well there too.

Frodo, even if I was impressed in the movie Hooligan.

[–] Scubus@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 days ago

In the last witch hunter, I predicted his character arc almost on sight. That resulted in me making a bunch of jokes to my girlfriend. "Who could do something like that?" "Elijah would" "i wonder who would have the motive?" "Elijah would"

Fuckin great

[–] ArgumentativeMonotheist@lemmy.world 10 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Didn't even call him by his government name, lol.

[–] BeatTakeshi@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago

Adult Danielle Radcliffe I don't really think "that's Harry Potter". Probably because the beard.

Wesley snipes is blade though.

[–] snailboy@lemm.ee 2 points 1 day ago

β€œThere’s only one Blade. Only ever gonna be one Blade.”

[–] pipe01@programming.dev 13 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Rami Malek will always be a hacker

Niel Patrick Harris will always be Barney Stinson.

No, he is Dr Doogie Howser!

[–] Kennystillalive@feddit.org 7 points 3 days ago

Honorable Mention: Morgan Freeman is God.

I liked Bradley Cooper but after watching American Sniper I can't see his face anymore without seeing the smug visage of imperialist murder.

[–] cabillaud@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 days ago

Jamie Hector for me will always be Marlo Stanfield and it scares the hell out of me

Tom Cruise is just Tom Cruise to me, I never feel like he disappears into any kind of role - he's just Tom Cruise pretending to be someone else who happens to look and act similarly to Tom Cruise.

With one exception, that being Les Grossman from Tropic Thunder πŸ˜†

[–] DornerStan@lemmygrad.ml 5 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Magnolia is probably his best performance, but hard to say how much of that is him disappearing into the role versus the role giving us a peek behind the mask lol

[–] Diddlydee@feddit.uk 4 points 3 days ago

First, take a big step back... and literally, FUCK YOUR OWN FACE!

Sorry Aubrey Plaza, you will forever be an intern

[–] LaGG_3@hexbear.net 8 points 3 days ago

I like how Robert Pattinson has done quite a few weird roles that Twilight isn't always the first thing I think of with him lol

Ryan Reynolds will always be Ryan Reynolds

[–] scintilla@beehaw.org 6 points 3 days ago

RDJ just is iron man at this point. I saw him in Oppenheimer and was genuinely distracted by it.
