All of the above. Went swimming the day before though. Cold undercurrent was a bit startling but probably needed. That day was roasting too.

Wearing sunscreen I hope. And an ice lolly or two. Have you been harvesting your garden yet? Mine is overflowin wi raspberries

Factor 50!! And i have mr freeze sour ice poles! Delish! The apple tree has a few apples growing but only thing ready is strawberries which I just eat when I see them!! What you for making??

Dessert mostly, berries galore! Even a few gooseberries this year. Neighbour gave me some red currants I turned into a pink lemonade. Tatties going to salads. Herbs for everything. Plums I thinned hard this year to hopefully see a smaller yet bigger crop. Apples going great again, last year I turned loads into apple and bramble jam. And loads of crumbles. And I fancy rowan jelly this year for the first time, and lavender chicken is a thing. I even had some dandelion leaves in my salad, and I fancy some nettles in a broth. You can even make sticky willy tea, but I haven't been brave enough yet. Don't eat the foxgloves though. Gardens are surprisingly edible

I read something, I forget where, about rowan berries having a toxin that's bad for the kidneys. It may have meant just the raw ones. Would have to look it up in a decent foraging book though. The amount of "A.I." generated misinformation that's about now is horrendous.

Yup, I've had to go back to old books for the recipe to prepare them

You have loads!!! Our garden is mostly for bees, butterflies and birds, so they eat it and we just admire!!

Hating this week had to cover on call this week which I haven't had to do in like 3 years. Rough one too 10 hours overtime racked up so far.

Next month's pay bump is going to be sweeeeeet though

[–] Olap@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

10 hours is hefty. No overtime provision in my place, so if I ever have to do it: I get it back instead. Love a free Monday off

My hubby is on call this week too but its been quiet!!

[–] linzid83@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

What ended up was im on my laptop in a carpark in peebles pissed off because they phoned me because it was a hard ticket and they didn't know what to do next

And yes as its emergency cover im doing im getting a shit load of money

[–] linzid83@lemmy.world 1 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

At least thats something!

Do you live in Peebles? I like it there!

[–] Z3k3@lemmy.world 2 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

Nah. Just somewhere to go and get out of the house. Never been there before. Was nice and green

[–] linzid83@lemmy.world 1 points 11 hours ago

My grandparents were from the borders, so I know Peebles reasonably well. Its nice to stroll through and along the river!
