Unfortunately, this is very true.
Honestly, I really miss that friendly AI because most similar games just don't have any at all now. I liked how my cleric would buff up the party when they weren't doing anything. Queueing up all that shit was a hassle!
Better than throwing a fireball at everyone. Happened in Baldur's Gate often enough. But I guess that's the real D& D experience.
