9. No link shorteners.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

Imagine serving because you believe that you're protecting the country from a foreign military threat, only to be tasked with verifying genital compliance for bathrooms.

Whew, that's a relief. As a completely straight, totally not gay, heterosexual male, knowing that I will only get to see the penises of other men in the bathroom gives me an immeasurable sense of ~~release~~ relief.
Having been in the military, I am acutely aware of just how soul crushing this is going to be for servicemembers.

This sounds like an excellent use of time and money for the military. Right up there with sending troops to LA to stand around and watch protests, but not to TX to help with search and rescue. Because lives don't matter only control matters.

I've reached a point where I refuse any longer to hold any reverence or respect for current military. Just like cops. The military cock worship of parades, holidays, and discounts everywhere needs to go away.
How about discounts for teachers, or road workers, or social workers.
A lot of these people were in the military before the second Trump admin made it obvious that they're going to have to work for an actual fascist dictatorship.
Secondly, for a lot of young people, the G.I Bill is the only real way to afford an education. You know that whole student debt issue that is crippling people financially for decades? Joining the military is a way to bypass that.
The uncomfortable pill is that at any point in the last many decades (ie: after abolishment of the draft) there was no good reason to join. WMDs? Known lie. Vietnam and not drafted? Known lie. (Tonkin was a lie)
That GI bill part is so very true and sad. It’s on purpose, of course. Expensive college and poor people means … more fodder.
Plus, it's not like you can just join the military and quit when you don't like how things are going. Unless things have changed radically, when you enlist you're signing up for 3,6 or even 8 years of service with very little recourse for getting out (without messing up your career and maybe even your life).
I'm sure for a lot of people working in the military is just a job. It's a luxury to choose jobs based on personal politics and a lot of people can't afford that now.

I'm getting sick and tired of all this and i'm in the group that it's cool to dogpile on du jour, just make all bathrooms mixed already: sinks up front, cubicles in the middle with floor to ceiling doors, urinals at the back. There, done.
As a bonus a lot more people will wash their hands.
Motels might lose some money though.

I'll give you this as an example, I drive Uber and have a mas presenting trans person. I call them by their preferred name and drive them where they wanna go. That's it, and it's never a problem. They told me about another driver that keeps making up mas names to call them in an attempt to antagonize them(?) I guess. I seriously can't imagine giving that much of a fuck about someone I don't even know.
But here I am giving that same energy to dipshit "conservatives". I guess we're all hypocrites.
Nothing says protecting people in the bathroom like constantly monitoring them and keeping track of everyone that uses them.

The other day, my mind was on other things and I walked into a public restroom, looked around, and didn't see a single urinal. Suddenly it hit me!
I hustled out, and sure enough, I'd walked into the Women's side. It was one of those big open rest rooms with no doors, just a big opening, and I wandered into the wrong one. IT HAPPENS! Luckily nobody else was in there at the time.
We'll make sure that no filthy ~~Jews~~ trans people are in our glorious military!
