Just more proof that the Republican party is driven by hate and not logic.

It's because they think it's for the greater good and that their sacrifice is for the good of this country. They probably feel like heroes. It's a fucking cult and they are brainwashed. All the while a bunch of power hungry sociopaths tell them who to hate and whose fault it all is so they won't see that they are being taken advantage of.

If you look up interviews of people that used to be neo-nazis they legitimately thought they were saving the world. The people they were following convinced them that the reason people don't like them is because they were trying to hurt them and the only solution was to hurt them first.

[–] mutual_ayed@sh.itjust.works 12 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Yup, that's usually how a death cult works

[–] IphtashuFitz@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

So when will they drink the Flavor Aid?

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 14 points 2 days ago

As always, it is projection with these assholes. They always claim that being liberal is a "sickness".

These people are literally so very sick in the head that they'd rather be miserable than thrive, as long as they feel the people they have been indoctrinated to think are their "enemies" are hurting, too.

These weird freaks would let donvict take a dump in their mouth if they thought a liberal would have to smell it.

[–] Horsey@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

Unfortunately, my father is exactly this individual, and he's serious. He wants nothing more than to see other people suffer, even if he has to himself suffer (as long as his suffering is less than theirs, because otherwise that would be unfair 🤷🏽‍♂️).

[–] ayyy@sh.itjust.works 5 points 2 days ago

Further evidence that they don’t care about you and you shouldn’t return the favor. The only good Nazi is a dead Nazi.

[–] Linktank@lemmy.today 40 points 3 days ago (1 children)

So what we need to do is make them suffer worse than the people they want to see suffering. Got it.

[–] Sanctus@lemmy.world 9 points 3 days ago

Gg ez. These people complain more than anyone. Hate is a double edged sword when its wielded as a weapon.

[–] squirrel@lemmy.blahaj.zone 30 points 3 days ago (1 children)

For years on end Fox "News" told these people that they are the vanguard in the culture wars. This is the intended outcome.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

Imagine if all of these people get to entirely run the culture.

Gross.

[–] Sterile_Technique@lemmy.world 18 points 2 days ago

As the saying goes, a republican would enthusiastically let you shit in their mouth if it meant a liberal had to smell it.

[–] boolean_sledgehammer@lemmy.world 21 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Any democratic candidate preaching that we need to "reach out" to these people can fuck off and die.

[–] TheCriticalMember@aussie.zone 3 points 2 days ago

Never forget. Never forgive.

[–] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

Any candidate who doesn't will be opposed by their own party.

[–] HulkSmashBurgers@reddthat.com 21 points 3 days ago

It's a rage (and hate) cult.

[–] prinzmegahertz@lemm.ee 7 points 2 days ago

Tbh. It really makes things easier to think of people in terms of Devils and angels - the maga crowd are little imps that are turning earth literally into hell, a place of suffering.

[–] fluxion@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

They are literally the ones that'll get hurt the most by tariffs

[–] AmidFuror@fedia.io 11 points 2 days ago (3 children)

Shouldn't the hat read "45 & 47" or "45, 47?" The dash implies all intervening terms are also included.

[–] HarkMahlberg@kbin.earth 16 points 2 days ago (2 children)

The implication is intentional. They still think Biden stole the election and that Trump is the rightful 46th Pres. It doesn't even matter if you use that logic to say Trump's 2024 campaign was illegal. Or that his plan for 2028 is also illegal. They want it all.

[–] AmidFuror@fedia.io 10 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Ah, I see.

Whatever happened to the Q people who thought Trump was actually in charge after 2020 and would reveal his power to the world by executing all the child sex traffickers and Democrats (redundant)? Did they decide Trump actually wasn't secretly in charge?

[–] HarkMahlberg@kbin.earth 8 points 2 days ago (1 children)

He is when it suits them, he isn't when it doesn't. $4 for eggs was too expensive under Biden, so Trump brought the price down to $11. We can't catch them with cognitive dissonance, they have none.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

I sometimes try to imagine what it must be like to live in those heads. And I just can't.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

They are in a constant state of flux on many issues, including their Schrodinger's President. Depending on the conversation at hand, they open up the box in their head and decide whether Biden was actually the President for 4 years or if donvict and his dumbasses were....

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

That is probably true, but it's also true that we are not dealing with a highly literate demographic here, and if they struggle with that, I think they really struggle with numeracy, too.

Even including really basic stuff...

[–] HarkMahlberg@kbin.earth 3 points 1 day ago

One of the articles sourced by Snopes is this NYT article, which I think highlights one of the major problems with teaching:

Across all school subjects, teachers receive a pale imitation of the preparation, support and tools they need. ... the overall picture is of a profession struggling to make the best of an impossible hand.

And across all subjects, the neglect shows in students’ work. In addition to misunderstanding math, American students also, on average, write weakly, read poorly, think unscientifically and grasp history only superficially.

Teachers almost universally bear the brunt of a toxic society from all sides. Children with poor behavior, Parents who promote it, Administrators who ignore it, and almost everyone incentivized by shit laws like No Child Left Behind to keep skating those kids through every step of the way - find any excuse to pass the problem child on to the next year, conjure any reason to get Brad that sports scholarship even though he can't multiply fractions.

Our entire society has venerated ignorance for half a century, and we've become exceedingly efficient at it. Few places are as protective and proud of their bad reputation as the USA.

They think 46 was stolen.

[–] Bahnd@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

You could do some division and call him .95744...

Dont worry, the people wearing the hat wont understand it anyway.

[–] jordanlund@lemmy.world 11 points 3 days ago (1 children)

~~"others"~~ brown people.

FTFY.

[–] Maeve@kbin.earth 15 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I don't think so. I think it's more anyone who disagrees or has disagreed - ever.

[–] adarza@lemmy.ca 10 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (2 children)

but it's mostly 'brown' people.

but also 'the gays', and the 'queers', and the 'devil worshipers', and the 'libruls', and the 'ferriners'......

[–] Maeve@kbin.earth 6 points 2 days ago

They run out of scapegoats in one group and need more.

[–] ripcord@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

So, "others".

[–] j0ester@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

Well, yeah! Misery loves company. They’re damn miserable.

[–] knobbysideup@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I've got news for them. My finances will be ok, and I'll still be able to retire someday. I'd wager this will have less of an impact on me than on the magat trailer trash around here.

[–] HarkMahlberg@kbin.earth 11 points 2 days ago (1 children)

They are looking for every possible way to take that away from you.

You have a 401k? They're crashing the stock market to make you dependent on your job for longer.

You have a mortgage? Maybe you already paid off your house? Crash the housing market to send your mortgage underwater or decimate your nest egg.

Do you plan on relying on medicare for healthcare when you're old and retired? I hope not. That's next.

Maybe you can afford private healthcare? Destroy the CDC and the FDA to make sure you get sick from preventable diseases, so that you need to pay more for that healthcare.

Whatever net worth you think you have, Trump, Musk, and MAGA will take it. You're just a pocketbook to them.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

They are also hoping to make anyone that is too "uppity" (in other words, smarter than the average qon) scared to live their lives normally. They snicker about the fear that the government might kidnap dissidents and sent them to a gulag.

I'm sure many DREAM about the ability to rat out anyone that makes them look stupid about any given issue - being able to call some hotline and have the goons take away the people that made them look bad...

[–] HarkMahlberg@kbin.earth 2 points 1 day ago

Man I was gonna add a whole part about Cletus the trailer trash calling ICE to deport an American citizen, thinking he'll somehow be able to seize OP's home and squat in it, without understanding how civil forfeiture works. But I left it out because I felt like I had gone on long enough. But yeah, what you described is basically exactly what I expect to happen in 4-6 months.
