Overview:

The community dedicated to boycotting the US until they stop fascism, restore full democracy and start following international law.

Americans have a moral obligation to resist Donald Trump and project 2025 at every turn.

America is a flawed democracy currently being ruled by oligarchs. Stop the backslide! Dont let America become the next Hungary.

America needs to challenge the court rulings of citizens united v. fec and shelby county v. holder, protect the media, implement independent district drawing, and the single transferable vote so they don't end up having people stay home in life-changing elections because they cannot vote for their favourite candidate.

That should have been a message two decades ago. It's too late now. Additionally, there's many more far-right echo chambers at this point. It's not just Fox News anymore.

That with any legacy media. Most of it is bought by oligarchs and is propaganda

In the season 22 episode ‘The Fool Monty’, which aired in 2010, a helicopter appears with the slogan: “Fox News: Not Racist, But #1 With Racists.” The joke was criticised by political pundit Bill O’Reilly, who accused the show of “continuing to bite the hand that feeds part of it”.

So his problem with the allegations of pandering to racists wasn't that it was untrue, it was that he felt they'd been paid to not say it?

That is what those words mean in that order, yes.

“Grab the TV remote, go to menu, go to controls, vertical controls, look for channel list and delete Fox News.”

I love political statements that are this specifically actionable

There's already little devices you can buy that just cycle through every IR code to turn off every TV in range. This should get coupled with a mic listening for Fox News commercial bumps before activating.

[–] phx@lemmy.ca 1 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Is there a specific sound to those? It actually could be possible with an ESP chip, IR transmitter, and a decent pickup mic

[–] Glitterbomb@lemmy.world 1 points 6 days ago (1 children)

I'd be shocked if fox doesn't use some sound effects at the start of shows as a pavlovian response to get their viewers salivating

If only South Park's "brown noise" actually existed...

Do you mean for public TVs like at the gym, and waiting rooms?

I don't have cable. Is this an accurate procedure?

[–] leftthegroup@lemmings.world 4 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago) (1 children)

Maybe for one specific cable company's box. No idea which it is, but they're all different with different menus.

No idea why anyone would exist labeled as "vertical controls". Wtf

[–] damnedfurry@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago

Yeah, that just made me think of "vertical hold", which is a REALLY old thing you'd have to deal with on TVs, lol.

I'll be honest, I had no idea you could delete channels from a cable box.

[–] chicken@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 1 week ago

I'll be honest I don't own a television, though maybe someone else knows

Because Fox News is about to remind everyone he was getting his toes sucked by a trafficked girl on an Epstein flight?

Why are you trying to divert attention away from deleting Fox News?

[–] Duamerthrax@lemmy.world 17 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Was he only on one flight or a repeat visitor? One of the tactics Epstein employed was finding co-conspirators by inviting them to plausibly deniable senerios, but when that failed, simply getting blackmail on people who weren't interested. A foot massage from a 16 year old is pretty tame by Epstein standards and sounds more like a trap.

It doesn't seem too damning for Groening. However if it were me I'd be asking a fucking lot of questions and checking in with her, I'm amazed even his "innocent" guests thought nothing was strange about her employment. Then again I'd never get on the plane to begin.

[–] phx@lemmy.ca 3 points 6 days ago

Yeah, being on the plane is not a great idea or look, but there not anything illegal or necessarily sexual about a foot massage for most people. I've had a hand massage once and it was more like a pain-relief thing, and TBH I can't recall what the masseuse who did it looked like much less their apparent age.

I'd put that on the same category as getting a haircut with a shampoo

I'm not getting any kind of massage from a child. It might not be "on the plane to the island" bad but it is pretty bad.

So the question is: is he on the list along with Trump?

Well yeah, he's been an anarchist since he was a comic artist

Reminds me of Scoop Chang, Fox Quote Unquote News (Futurama: Decision 3012)

Um what took you so long?
