Many Hispanics have a "Fuck you. I got mine" mentality and hate illegal immigrants, not recognizing that the hatred the right has for "illegal immigrants" doesn't actually include the word "illegal".
Many Hispanics are brain rotted Catholics who wholeheartedly believe gay people are an abomination, this they support anyone who seems to be against LGBT rights.
Latino social media is FILLED with right wing propaganda. You may be thinking "yea, yea, I have Facebook. I see rightwing stuff too." but you do not get it. For over a decade now, rightwing influencers have been pushing HARD into Spanish speaking corners of the internet, and now, rightwing talking points are basically the norm. Every Spanish social media site looks like a Fox News comment section.
People always seem shocked at the amount of Hispanic support the right gets, but it's not much of a mystery when you look at their communities.

As someone who is Latin American and grew up in that culture, there is a LOT of machismo there. For whatever reason, too many Latino guys see a gold plated rapist as an icon of strength, and/or follow people who see him as one.

It should not be a surprise that latino immigrants lean more heavily christian conservative than native born citizens. Nearly all the republican leadership are like second or third generation immigrants. If they played the long game christians would hold power for decades without a fight. But racist mfers gonna racism.
This decline is a direct result of racial profiling. Being harrassed by ICE or knowing somebody who has will make people upset.
