Republicans explore everything other than actually fucking helping their constituents.

First Past The Post voting artificially limits the options for these people.
With STAR or Ranked Choice voting, voters would be free to vote how they want, secure in the knowledge that their vote will still be counted if their preference didnt win. We could give conservative voters a chance to elect better conservative parties then the republicans or democrats parties.

Sure republicans are anti democracy, but how about the democrats? Are they pro democracy? If so, why do they continue to use FPTP voting in states they control?
Why would they? It's proven they can shit all over their voters and they'll sit there and guzzle it down with their mouths agape in awe at their divine leaders.
And the first thing they always seem to try is cheating.
Can’t win any way except to cheat.
As it has been prophesized for decades. Once the Republicans can no longer legally win they will cheat and steal to keep power. The constitution is only something to cudgel Democrats with, not something to honour.
Fact that they’re so scared of him tells me he’s doing something right.
And both parties are scared. That is even more revealing.
This is the part I don't (figuratively) understand about US politics. Mamdani embodies what the US left has wanted all along but he's being pictured as worse than MAGAt by Democrats.
Democrats are fighting him just as bad as Republicans and are resisting him more than they resist the traitors in office. It's bonkers.
It's the billionaires.
Yup. The US is what happens when you let billionaires run the whole country. Mamdani is a threat to that dynamic.
Democrats are centre right, Republicans are insane. Once you undertanad that, it all makes sense.
That's because you mistakenly believe that the Democrats are "the left".
It becomes clearer when you realize that, in terms of political power, the left is a tiny insergency within the Democratic party. The party establishment itself is pretty solidly to the right.
And this is how they provoke an actual insurrection. Stay froggy, friends.

That is the actual goal.
Yeah that's why I mentioned it because not everybody is aware that that's exactly what they're trying to do. They're trying to start a war so that they can be seen by their supporters as being justified and using force against their enemies.
And to be clear what I mean by staying froggy, what I mean is to protest like the Portland frog does. Peacefully, cleverly, and without getting hurt or hurting someone else.
So, they’re openly and brazenly ass-fucking the constitution right in our faces, knowing full-well that there isn’t anyone, or anything to stop them.
America is a possession now. Owned and operated by terrorists, for terrorists.
Election melding right out in the open. Sure to piss off more than a few people, to say the least.
More fascism.
Congress has to meet, and they already said it won't until sometime in January. Within minutes of opening the session Johnson will be challenged for the speaker position and the house will devolve into chaos for another few weeks. It won't be until February before they are able to take any action about anything.
You're pretending anyone would hold them accountable....
Cuomo is working with trump, like literally, trump and other Republicans are advising Cuomo, that's why he keeps running all their racist ads.
The NY Gov is still his old Lt Governor who took his post when he stepped down.
There's a non-zero chance republicans and neoliberal unite to steal an election Mamdani wins.
We've got a good DNC, but some of the state parties still suck. nY is one of the worst, because all the money from Wall Street.
Don't forget trump was a NYC neoliberal for decades, even had the Clintons at his wedding. We can't count on them even to stay out of it.
So the republicans are truly anti-democratic and this proves it. Fuxk fascists.
Always have been.
We have a tyrannical minority that is actively changing laws so they can remain in power indefinitely. We have a packed Supreme Court that is literally ignoring the Constitution when the reason they exist is to protect it. If they hadn't made Trump king he would not be in office, he'd be in criminal court.
Republicans have been virulently anti-democracy for decades. As far as the GQP is concerned the majority can go fuck themselves.
"If conservatives become convinced that they can not win democratically, they will not abandon conservatism. They will reject democracy.” - David Frum
In short, "democracy" organized fascism when it felt it could no longer resist the pressure of the working class in conditions even of only formal freedom. Fascism, by shattering the working class, has restored to "democracy" the possibility of existing. In the intentions of the bourgeoisie, the division of labour should operate perfectly: the alternation of fascism and democracy should serve to exclude for ever any possibility of working-class resurgence.
Democracy and fascism - Antonio Gramsci, 1924
I still can’t believe the whole country is seething about an NYC mayor election lmaoo.
On the other side of the ocean, plenty of people not even living on the same continent are cheering for Mamdani. Not because the mayor of NYC affects us directly, but because 1) he's awesome and 2) if change starts with this mayoral election, tide may yet turn for the US as a whole. And of course 3) NYC is overly romanticized thanks to the American media my generation grew up on here in post-soviet Eastern Europe, plus it is awesome to visit. Maybe with Mamdani it can be awesome to live in again as well.
Yes. I also see Mamdani as hope for the us. That’s why billionaires are against him. That’s why the current admin is against him. He will inspire other young people to get involved with politics.
I too hope Mamdani wins for the hope and change aspect. Small changes are good. Good luck tonight New York and progressives around the world.

With this administration you need to move that red line up a couple of shades.
Just like they are preventing the rep from Arizona? This is fucking INSANE!
New York Young Republican Club is being shut down because they are literally Nazis.
They aren't going to do a fucking thing.
No taxation without representation. If they dont honour the results, then you have no representation. And if you have no representation, then fuck them. They can sing for there taxes. The machine only works when you all play along. Stop playing. See how quickly anyone is willing to come to your door, when they arent getting paid to do so.
The power of people is only real power, when you all hold fast together. Let them threaten you. Let them jail you. Cos them money. And give them nothing until elections are fair and just.
New York Post is absolute GARBAGE. Right-wing tabloid owned by Murdoch. Only place that would publish the hunter laptop conspiracy theory.
I’m guessing they don’t see the irony of this strategy…
They see it, but don't care. They're in control, and are going to do every fucking absurd thing they can do to keep it since they have the Supreme Court rubber-stamping everything for them. It's an all or nothing bet on maintaining power. They're not that stupid, they're just cravenly doing everything they can while they can to solidify their power.
I'll just keep posting this quote on the topic.
'If conservatives become convinced that they can not win democratically, they will not abandon conservatism. The will reject democracy."
To be clear, this is what I assume you're referring to:
It cites language in the post-Civil War 14th Amendment to the Constitution barring from office anyone who “engaged in insurrection or rebellion” or who has “given aid or comfort to the enemies.” The group argues that Mamdani’s own statements calling to resist ICE could violate the prohibition.
To them, there is no irony because they think anyone challenging their power or ideologically inconsistent with them is an insurrection or rebellion.
I think that ICE will be sent to murder Zohran, if he doesn't have a large enough bodyguard detail.
How to get ahead in politics: Be a genuinely decent human being.
If only all of the other scumbags in politics didn't make it so hard.
I’m sure they will just break any and all laws to get their way. I hope every last one ends up in prison for life.
All I want from a new administration is to prosecute the criminals from this one.
