The New Republic is a reliable magazine. It names the doctor in the article. Dr Zeke Emanuel is a doctor who worked for Biden, not as a Biden's personal doctor but as a policy advisor for COVID. He even has a wikipedia article.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ezekiel_Emanuel

The title is misleading click-bait. The title says "Doctor who worked with Biden says he had cancer for years". By this title, you are misled into thinking that the doctor knew that Biden had cancer, but the title doesn't say that. The doctor worked for Biden's covid policy panel and Biden has late stage cancer, therefore this doctor made the inference now that Biden must have had cancer for a long time.

The article does not say that this doctor was aware of the cancer previously.

Given how they hid his mental decline and bashed on anyone who pointed it out since the beginning it seems EXTREMELY on brand that they would hide his cancer diagnosis and let a literally dying man run for re-election.

Also I hear a tell-all book is just about to come out, it might have revealed as much so this is all meant to get ahead and massage the messaging, to push out a bunch of sympathy in front of all the problems and get people to shout down the stuff revealed there with sobs about how he has cancer and we all need to be decent to the genocider in chief, etc, etc.

Also I believe it's probably true the President is given the most comprehensive medical screening of anyone who's not a billionaire with blood boys. I would bet he gets blood tests that screen for literally everything every month if not weekly and exams that normal people get once a year they get 2-3 times.

Could be reactionary crankery but given the history here I'd lean towards believing it's quite possible.

The president definitely has blood boys

Either they didn't test for it or they didn't report it

My first reading of the headline had me wondering why "Doctor Who" was working with Biden? An episode where Abraham Lincoln turns into a weeping angel statue or Congress is attacked by Daleks yelling "exterminate" and zapping Mitch McConnell.

[–] OldSoulHippie@hexbear.net 3 points 2 weeks ago

For some reason AOC is the one shot companion for that episode

He has been made up of 100% cancer for his entire life

Yesterday I was thinking "it would have been so cool for an oncologist to break the professional silence before the primaries, but that person's career would be over and they would be probably IRL killed or at least sued to death"; but they are now ruining their careers to absolutely no gain. Right?

If I say "I have been recently diagnosed with cancer", my oncologist saying "yeah this removed have been a bag of metastasis for years" is still extremely unprofessional, (comedic hyperbole aside) Right?

So assuming I'm not wrong, the second question is why?

[–] Lyudmila@hexbear.net 7 points 2 weeks ago

Because that's not what happened. Just a "Journalist" doing their thing with headlines.

The doctor basically just said that because Biden has late stage cancer, it has been growing in his body for years. No secret info, nothing HIPAA violating. Literally just basic, generic medical facts based on the officially released information.
