I’m talking about journal entries from clinics other than my own. If I want to know what happened to a patient in the ER last week, I first have to get the patient’s permission to open that part of the journal. It literally says so in the IT system when I try to click that part of the system, and I have to state a reason for opening it. The reason is always the same - I need it to make the best, most updated and safe decisions about my patient.

This is what the IT companies for journal systems all over Sweden tell us, the healthcare workers, when we and the patients complain that the systems are overly complicated and take too much time to work with.

”No, we can’t make the journal system smooth and efficient due to GDPR”.

Maybe in your field? Tell that to healthcare workers. Don’t you want your doctor to know about your medical history and what medications you’re taking, without having to wait and see you first to be able to ask you? GDPR HAS to be revised.

I completely agree! GDPR was good in theory, but it’s really hindering us in practice. Coming from someone working in healthcare.

Finally!!! GDPR strongly needs a revision. I work in healthcare in Sweden, where many hospitals recently have gotten a new digital journal system. In theory it would be a really good one, but because of GDPR we still have to rely on printing papers, and sending them to other clinics via post or fax. How in the world does that protect our privacy better than just using the digital services that are built to do this?!

All my patients expect me to have ready up on their medical history, and know what medications they take, so that I am up to date about what they need. But in order to do that, I first have to ask for their permission, and THEN open their journal. It has to be the other way around - that you can actively block healthcare personnel from reading your journal if you for some reason don’t want them to.

Revising the GDPR to make it less intrusive in healthcare, would increase our ability to see more patients and spend less time on administrative tasks, which I think everyone is positive to.

Yes!!! I’ve been wanting this! Let’s put costs on all the US apps and sites - that way a lot of Europeans will actually start using the amazing European alternatives that we already have, keeping our money in Europe for our own companies to invest with, to become even greater! I’m all in! 💪🏻

First of all - I’m shocked that anyone would use a thumb up like in your last example. That’s obviously extremely rude and disrespectful.

Second of all - I’m shocked that some people can’t see the difference of the usage of the thumb up and believe that it’s always rude, regardless of context.

I understand how someone can see a thumbs up as something rude in certain circumstances. What I’m having a hard time understanding is that some people seem to believe that the thumb up is ALWAYS rude.

What is rude, as you say, is the lack of a proper response, depending on the conversation. Not the thumb in itself.

Hey!

Windows 11 gamer here, I basically only use my new PC desktop for gaming. Using Nvidia. Right now playing mostly GW2 and CK2.

I just started fiddling around with Linux a few weeks ago. I tried Linux Mint but had problems with CK2 recognizing my Nvidia card despite installing the driver. So I moved over to Ubuntu. CK2 is now working perfectly, but GW2 is stuttering whenever I move my mouse, making it not playable. I’m running it as a non Steam game on Steam.

Which distro would you recommend for me? I’m thinking about Bazzite (but maybe it’s mostly for handheld games?) or Pop_OS? Fedora? Or can I maybe fix GW2 on Ubuntu somehow?

All the different distros is making this a bit overwhelming 😅
