Shit, Trump's illegal Iran war convinces me pretty strongly that a nuclear weapons program is the only way to keep my fucking apartment secure from the despotic motherfucker. Kick in my door and millions go boom, bitch!

…that sounds ridiculous, and it is! But that's the kind of world this sadistic, brain-rotted buffoon is trying to create. And for some reason Republicans seem to think that's just great! Less than two dozen of them could end this nightmare if they cared. But they don't. How many more are going to die for these bastards?

    He definitely didn't say no. And I think he'd be a hell of a candidate if he did. He gets it, he's bright enough to do the job, and he's got the connections without the social indebtedness of the average politician. And he'd pick an AOC as a running mate in a heartbeat. Plus, if someone's worried that white men won't elect a brown woman, Jon Stewart is about as white as I am (albino).

    I don't count him as "in the running" because he's not said he's willing to be in the running. But he's also not saying no very loudly.

    He's been moving rather leftward. He is anti-gun, which does bother me. But I was once a gun-lovin' libertarian-Republican. I learned a lot about the lies behind the entire right wing … but nobody's convinced me yet that the people owning firearms is a bad thing. If anything, if more left-wing folks owned them, the fascist party would be a little less eager to threaten violence. After all, an armed society is indeed a polite one.

    Yeah I recognize that mass shootings are a problem and that we could be doing a whole hell of a lot more to prevent those from happening. Disarming the population to make a "Republican" fascist coup to be more likely to be successful is not how we should be addressing the problem, though. Maybe I'm crazy there? Oregon is still working to ban private gun owernship in the midst of Trump's literal fascist coup. What The Actual Fuck, Oregon?

    More and more I believe we can and we will. Trump is getting more and more erratic and desperate. Things are falling apart for him. The question now is how many people die before it happens. I think it'll be less than 120M more than if we do it your way. I think the odds of a less bad outcome are higher with my conclusion by a lot. And has a less risky outcome.

    What doesn't exist at this point is a "good" outcome. That shim sailed November 2024. People are already dying. A lot of them. We'll eventually find out how many the concentration camps have killed. No good outcome.

    I don't think she can win YET. But as I said, it's early and that may change. She's my pick, certainly of people who are known to be in politics right now. If not now, later. That woman is going to become president. And America will be better off for it.

    Um, seems there's a good number of folks who've been trying to do something about that, actually. And the people who are starving Cuba right now are starving my neighbors too. I'm pretty opposed to starving people all around. And I want the people doing it tried for those crimes.

    Yeah, so this is my letter to the Oregonian after I attended a Labor Against ICE rally in Portland, a couple of blocks from my own apartment actually. Speeches from folks in labor, then we walked down to the ICE building.

    Guy on the PA said expect tear gas so I got ready to move. They usually shoot a few pepperballs and if that doesn't move people they'll drop one or two gas grenades, maybe a flashbang. So I was getting ready to get the hell out of there when they did that. But that ain't what they did though, they gassed the neighborhood like 3 blocks in multiple directions.

    Wasn't there Sunday but they did it again, even worse. Folks at the senior care building six blocks away across from the hospital's clinics were gassed in their apartment. So was I, but I thought I just did a bad job washing everything at the time. Someone who was there both days said they counted 41 tear gas and 18 flashbang grenades total, and who knows how many pepperballs and rubber bullets fired.

    Because a few people trespassed Saturday. And a couple shook the gate Sunday.

    Oh, that gas mask? I'm a legally blind insulin-dependent diabetic albino with asthma and I'm on chemo for my stage 4 melanoma. The medic told me I really should have something called "PAPR" but … that ain't happening. At least a full-face respirator then with 3M 60926 magenta with olive stripe filters or similar NIOSH-approved. Not green or yellow. One person had a mask with a diaphragm to make speech clear through the mask. That and a couple filters is getting on toward $200 which is like 1/5 of my disability before rent, utilities, food, etc.

    But fuck these nazis! If I need this inside my own apartment, I'll be back out there helping people two at a time, because I can.
