it is no longer opportune to support them vocally.

This is a really good example of the spotty support from Liberals in America. The main contradiction will always be economic but minorities are scapegoated to prevent workers uprising. This creates a contradiction by pointing out the scapegoat, supporting the group, and directly addressing the economic contradictions.

It really isn't that hard to support minorities and fight for economic revolution.

Someone mentioned that "Democrats should be the default option for queers" and while I thought I had examples I'm struggling to actually find more than a couple. It might be that there just is support and its not as acute of a contradiction as I suspected.

I had previously been under the impression that in the U.S. the Liberal Democrats keep abandoning trans people. Especially around the 2024 election where they explicitly blamed them for losing the election. Despite the key concern being economic issues.

But It's actually hard for find any evidence for this, I know they haven't accomplished queer goals in the U.S. but I thought there was a more obvious examples of the contradiction for queer people.

As a professional artist of 10 years who started drawing only after they left school. Draw what you want, as often as possible. Study and output is most important to improvement. Look at styles you love and try breaking them down. Study books related to your goals and test them out. And make smaller goals. If you shoot for a 1000 page comic when you just start drawing you may never feel like youre accomplishing anything. But making minicomics help work you up to the larger goal. You can even do them on the side. Something I did was I made fanart for other creators or fans often. People always appreciate fanart, and it gives you a wider skillset when you have to jump from drawing a cat from a childrens book to a mech from a revolutionary anime.

But with most skills, you have to make it fun to keep motivating yourself. Otherwise you will distract yourself with other things, and only focus on the failures. There's not a cheat code that will make you better instantly, just trail, error, study, and output, output, output.

silicon valley has constantly sold scams to investors promising massive changes to our world, but they always end up just forced upon us and then we have to deal with the fallout. AI is overwhelmingly mid at most things and needs to be checked by people constantly to make sure its correct. I'm sure in a future where we have the infrastructure to handle it, and its outside of private hands it might have a use similar to other machines like the mechanical loom.

But we constantly see AI's shortcomings because there's a kind of "oversell" going on that has happened with most silicon valley tech. Of course people are against it, they witness it failing to meet minimum standards constantly in fields where its not ever going to excel, AND it is being used as an excuse to remove people from their jobs often increasing workload for the rest.

Its application is widely ineffective, needs double checking, fails to meet standards, or doubles work time just to fix when issues occur. Even in terms of "quality being subjective" people who actually care about the mediums do not like the intrusion of AI and can detect its use easily, musicians for music or artists for art, translation for translators, etc.

In China its utilized without fear of people losing their job, and often at the workers discretion. It's something utilized by the worker and not competing against the workers rights.

Basically within capitalism it is functioning not as a tool for workers, but often as a competitor for workers. Until this contradiction is changed or resolved you will never get mass acceptance of AI. The statement that machines are evil or not depending on the handler rings more true. But also not every technological "advancement" finds a place in our world naturally and its possible the resolution for this contradiction is simply nobody using it anymore. It could be a steam engine in ancient greece, or it could be the radioactive hair dryer. A proper analysis of the contractions of AI should be used to truly understand its place.

zoo's are actually uniquely beneficial in america because they are a part of several animal rights agreements. Other places like Japan who aren't part of these groups treats their animals far less humanely. If you visit any zoo in Japan I guarantee you'll feel horrible for the animals.

So Zoo's should be focused on population restoration and animal study and use public viewing as a means to generate revenue for such. But as we know capitalism prioritizes revenue above all else

Ive been seeing a lot of reports on Ukranian drones targeting Civilians in Russia, Donestk, Crimea, LPR, and DPR. Is Russia targeting Civilians in Ukraine as well? I mostly hear about their missiles striking cities but I'm not sure if they actually have a drone network like Ukraine. Or if they are unapologetically targeting Civilians like Ukraine seems to be doing.

It's normal in war to expect civilian causalities but how frequent we see it occurring really feels like its pointless death for the sake of numbers. Like we know from tons of previous conflicts that striking the civilians just makes them more aggressive against the system that is striking them

Anki cards for like 2000~ words. Childrens books learning videos and texts talking with people in games esp VRchat which is free and doesnt require vr. journaling looking up grammer rules when i noticed it and using some cirriculum books i managed to get ahold of. engage with your interests in the language (talking, reading, etc)

Basically the rule is to engage with the material as much as possible. If you want to speak you have to speak it, even if you suck and its super embarrassing. You just gotta do it. Speaking is a seperate skill to reading and writing and listening. It just requires a little bit of time every day and you can get it. IIRC the US army does a really intensive immersion program when it wants soldiers to learn a language and languages that are "complex" like chinese or japanese require 6 months but other languages require less. IIRC conversational in spanish is just 2-3 months. but thats at the most intense version of this regiment.

BTW if you keep messing up a word, You could spend a lot of time trying to get it and you probably should if its important. But when I was in the word mining phase which is when you are trying to find new words to add to flash cards to study I often found If I was getting a word wrong over and over, I didnt remember it by cramming a ton of study time, I remembered it by encountering it in real life. Usually in a very memorable moment. So make as many memorable moments as possible and have fun

switch all devices to target language ofc but you should get at least to the point of reading childrens books before then. But if you dont understand you wont learn. You need to understand like 85% of a sentence to be able to learn what the last portion is without aid.

I've been having a lotta discussions around the Ukrianian Russian conflict and exploring the history with my friend. But they keep bringing up a claim that neither I nor they can find the source for.

The Claim is; Russia, Donetsk, Crimea and Luhansk at some point have suppressed the Ukrainian language. Specifically Since 2014.

Ukraines suppression of Russian is not contested, nor is Putins position on Ukranian identity.

Is there any proof of such a thing happening? I've taken the discussions previously as if its true because I don't really know enough about the conflict but after extensive searching I cant find anything.

I once met a guy who moved to UK from hong kong and they were hardcore US supporter and wanted the US to nuke the entirety of the middle east and claimed that especially muslims were invading western countries like the UK and taking over and enstating the dreaded "Sharia law". He also wanted the US to Nuke china and destroy it.

Meanwhile everyone I've met from the Mainland is totally chill and very very very educated about world events and speaking multiple languages. I'm still friends with all of them. One recently joined the Communist party so I'm super interested in talking with them about stuff.

    Yeah honestly I totally agree.

The idea that religion would be on the side resisting oppression or against it inherently is flawed. We see religion used to justify just about anything. Even within the same system and same struggles. You could replace religion with just about any societal construct and the issue comes from the leaders of said constructs and their own struggles, to be opportunistic and aid imperialism or to fight for the workers, and the workers in their stringent trust in the leaders. Just the same issues different name.

But because dialectical materialism is exactly that, materialism, religion as a concept tends to be a kind of antithetical thought.

Has anyone encountered someone from a country that has had socialist in the past falling for propaganda.

I have a couple friends who know I’m a ML and its difficult to try to discuss communism around them because of how they fall for the anti red propaganda.

I can discuss the issues with them but they often dismiss everything at themselves being an authority on the subject as I do not live in a post socialist society. I ususally write them off as impossible to enter reasonable discussions with and also I focus mostly on the people within my region to agitate. But occasionally they’re a mutual friend or are in the vicinity of the discussion and return to the same old things.

    Unnecessary but relevant story:

There was even an incident with a German I met at a party. I talked for a bit about normal stuff and mentioned how hard living was for me in my country because of capitalism and he shut me down not wanting to talk about politics which ofc I respect its a party. But later when I was discussing the feminist progress in socialist countries have accomplished and their impact on our country and culture with a professor I was totally chattin up(she wrote her final thesis on a similar matter), they came over and interrupted the conversation with their own opinions on the matter. Mostly referring to the history in Berlin of which ofc they hadn't personally experienced. Thankfully this didn't ruin the vibe and us socialists got social lmao.

But Its something I have encountered repeatedly and I’m not sure how to approach it. Especially as someone from a imperial country.
