No it does not. It means you have confused Conservatism for an ideology in and of itself rather than a position on an ideological spectrum. If you tell me you believe in liberalism you are actually telling me the kind of government and economy you endorse much like if you claimed to be a Marxist Leninist. If you say you are “conservative” you need a noun for that adjective.
Liberalism is traditionally the beginning of the left as the left outside of Europe. The whole bit about how leftism is anti-capitalist is Eurocentric
The point is Trump is not the only problem and the 40% or so that supports him also need addressing. The problem is hundreds of millions of people not just one or two.
