I consider Lemmy to be more pseudonymous. Which is to say, I am practically anonymous to most users, but it wouldn’t take much for someone with resources to pester my instance into giving up my IP.

The content of my posts, comments, and votes is intentionally public information.

No special rules. Just be mindful of your instance rules and community rules, but I myself have never run into surprising edge cases.

The rules for your post are the union of:

  • The instance hosting your account to which you agreed when you registered.
  • The instance hosting the community to which you are posting, which all communities on that instance are supposed to follow.
  • The rules of that community.

It’s like posting to a mailing list. You have to obey the rules of your email provider, the service hosting the mailing list, and the list itself. That’s about it. In practice, this works very well and mostly reduces to the rules of the community which are conveniently provided in the sidebar or community description.

What a shithole.

My great grandfather was a hero. He along with others discovered the cure for fascism, and he helped so many poor souls afflicted by this terrible disease.

However, I don’t believe he foresaw the possibility that it could become a family tradition. I certainly hope not, but things are going to get so much worse.

It’s the same group of people. They’re buddies.

Well yes. The government is collapsing and no longer values its own secrets unless they personally impact a handful of billionaires.

Plus, its own leadership includes its enemies. The government as we know it is in its death throws if not already dead.

And they’re supposed to know what the sign says? You think these people can read?

Without due process, how do you establish you're a citizen?

Woo, for a second there I was about to have some faith restored. Good to know it's safe and sound at rock bottom.

Oh look, yet another person being disappeared by the government again.

That's real neat!
