I don't think these are reciprocal. I think these are unilateral, and when countries respond, their tariffs will be reciprocal. The distinction is very important. This is a problem created by Trump, not by other countries. You don't get to choose false language to describe it that shifts the blame.

I don't think he's dense. Clearly he knows exactly what he's done. He knows that firing people could leave them homeless or dead, and he knows that cutting off life-saving medicine has killed people and will kill many more. His basic knowledge of well known facts is there... It's just that he's so narcissistic that none of that matters. When other people get f***** over it's not important. It is only his ego that matters.
Of course that's my best guess based on his tweets and video clips. It could be that he actually is that dense.
