We're fucked. There's no such thing as reality any more. I work in science and my colleague is editor in chief of a scientific journal. He gave up the job this week. The sheer amount of AI garbage that is submitted, he cannot handle it any more in the given timeframe. This is just one scientific journal, imagine this is happening all over in science. The pillars that create our knowledge of the world, science, the media, literature, the arts: however flawed, biased and imperfect they were, it's over. The fake machine kills it. All potential growth that AI might create at some domains of the economy will be eaten up by this effect that erodes our trust in science or our knowledge of the world at scale. Let alone the non-monetary damage it does to the very fabric of our society.

Agreed. After a few watches, the lighting on her lower leg seems a lot brighter than the rest of the shot. Then when "her" foot is in frame it's not right. Are folks swiping through an infinite feed going to notice or look for that, though? Doubt it.
