In a unilateral declaration by the health secretary, several injections promoted by online influencers will become widely available. The F.D.A. had advised against the move.

"No don't take those experimental mRNA vaccines under development for 30+ years and already undergoing human trials, they're dangerous and experimental!!!"

"The guy with a brain worm who eats roadkill says its safe to inject this substance"

Please Santa I've been a good boy this year can you please have the next deadly recall be for these and wipe out MAGA manosphere looksmaxxers?

It's even objectively stupider than them opposing mRNA vaccines; in addition, these fucking morons oppose things even decades older with proven efficacy and a track record of basically wiping out measles.

Well, until all these asshole "influencers" started their anti-vaxx campaigns in the 90s...

    Also:

As unapproved injections, the peptides would not have fundamental agency safeguards in place, such as the type of safety review that flagged thalidomide, a drug that caused devastating birth defects in Europe but was not approved as a morning sickness remedy by a careful F.D.A. reviewer.

    JFC.

Most of the people taking them get really upset when you explain how broad "peptides" are, and what they're actually doing is hormone therapy to make their physical body identify math their mental perception of who they are...

They're not transitioning, but they're still undergoing gender affirming hormone therapy.

Gender affirming care does not require gender dysphoria.

Viagra and Cialis are medicines in support gender affirming care. Gynecomastia is performed for men who were amab all the time. Laser hair removal, penile implants, breast augmentation, birth control, rhinoplasty....

All gender affirming care that does not require gender dysphoria to be gender affirming care.

It does if you're going by the WHO definition.

Gender-affirming care, as defined by the World Health Organization, includes a range of social, psychological, behavioral, and medical interventions designed to support and affirm an individual’s gender identity when it differs from the sex they were assigned at birth.

All of the things you listed have nothing to do with gender affirmation.

Physical symptoms, body distress, or hormonal imbalances can still occur in cis people, caused by medical conditions (endocrine disorders, PCOS, gynecomastia, or body dysmorphia), and not gender dysphoria.

Having physically presenting breasts as a male when amab (gynecomastia) addressed by male breast reduction surgery is a pretty easy example of how it is gender affirming care.

Medical organizations, legal courts, and bioethicists define gender-affirming care as any healthcare intervention that aligns a person’s physical body and expression with their internal gender identity.

It absolutely is gender affirming care. Ask a medical provider if you need help understanding this.

Gender affirming care is specifically for gender dysphoria. By definition.

Gynecomastia would be body dysphoria, not gender.

You'd really do well to read more of the WHO's posts on this topic, as gender affirming care does not require gender dysphoria.

    https://www.who.int/standards/classifications/frequently-asked-questions/gender-incongruence-and-transgender-health-in-the-icd

What is gender-affirmative health care? Gender-affirmative health care can include any single or combination of a number of social, psychological, behavioural or medical (including hormonal treatment or surgery) interventions designed to support and affirm an individual’s gender identity.

Note that nowhere does this say "gender dysphoria".

Because it isn't a requirement for gender affirming care. It is often talked about in the context of gender dysphoria. That does not, in any way, make it an inherent requirement for gender affirming care.

I'd also refer you to the ICD-11. Dysphoria is a profound discomfort or dissatisfaction. Even gender incongruence (which you may be incorrectly referring to as dysphoria) does not require gender dysphoria.

There is no requirement for dysphoria. There is no requirement for gender to be differing from their assignment at birth. The only requirement under ICD-11 (WHO) is the mismatch between body/social identity and their internal identity. Thats it.

Please stop trying to quote something you don't even understand.

    From your own link:

Gender Incongruence of Adolescence and Adulthood is characterised by a marked and persistent incongruence between an individual´s experienced gender and the assigned sex

The definition is provided on an article about gender dysphoria, although using a different name for it.

It doesn't mean that reproductive health care and body affirming treatment is gender affirming care.

It's affirming care for when your birth gender is different from the gender you feel.

Holy fuck you're still going despite being so blatantly wrong.

    experienced gender.

Please re-read those two words as many times as it takes.

    Edit:

although using a different name for it.

THIS SENTENCE ALONE SHOWS HOW MUCH YOU DONT UNDERSTAND.

Gender dysphoria is not a different name for gender incongruence.

You are as far from having a clue on what you're parroting as you could possibly be. Please stop.

I won't bother with you further. Go educate yourself, and stop pretending to know what the fuck youre talking about. I can tell you, you don't.

You left off "and their assigned sex". That bit is important.

Gender dysphoria is the psychological distress caused by gender incongruence, which is what gender affirming care treats.

At no point does the article suggest that all care related to gender is gender affirming.

It's like saying removing a glioblastoma is mental health care. It has to do with the brain, but the treatment isn't for mental health purposes. The reason for the treatment is important.

You left off "and their assigned sex". That bit is important.

Like having breasts, feeling male, and being assigned male at birth?

You have no idea what you're paraphrasing.

    Just stop. You're wrong.

Says the person claiming that treating endocrine disorders is gender affirming care...

You're objectively wrong. Your own sources confirm it, but you keep trying to extrapolate it to mean something it doesn't.

Gender affirming care is not an umbrella term. For example, I'm not on testosterone because my low T makes me feel like a woman. I'm on it because my low T causes extreme fatigue. It has nothing to do with my gender identity.

I wouldn't get my gynecomastia fixed because it makes me feel like less of a man. I'd get it fixed because it raises my risk of breast cancer.

The reason for the treatment is crucial to whether it's gender affirming or not.

    No one implied it did...

    Or didn't...

No one even brought up gender dysphoria or body dysmorphic disorder...

Did you mean to reply to someone else? Because there's a weird trend of people doing what you just did and claiming I said wild shit I clearly didn't.

Like, my comment is right there...

When the medical community called any form of lgbtq a mental illness...

Just because something is tangentially related to gender doesn't make it gender affirming care.
